New Tires for 1/8th Buggy and Truck

It seems like at every big race, JConcepts shows up with a new, fresh tire offering. This years ROAR Fuel Off-road Nationals is no exception. The JC Team hit the track today with some fresh tread patterns for both the buggy and the truck classes.

For the truck class, a follow up to the very popular Cross Hair tread pattern, is the Sevens, now for 1/8th trucks. The Sevens first debuted at the 2007 IFMAR World Championships for the 1/8th buggy. Sevens have ‘sub-tread’ technology, developed and used by JConcepts. Sub-tread consists of a second tread, that is shorter in overall height from the primary pins. When the tire wears down to the height of theĀ  sub-tread, the tire now has a fresh, sharp, edges contacting the racing surface.

Ryan Maifield ran the Sevens in several of his qualifiers at the Worlds, using them to TQ a round of qualifying, securing him 4th overall for the finals. Ryan also sported the Sevens in his qualifying at the Nitro Challenge, where he went on to win the event.

The Sevens tread pattern has now made its way the the 1/8th Truck tire line. With way conditions are shaping up at the ROAR Off-road Fuel Nationals this week, this will likely be the tire that Maifield and the JC Team will be running throughout qualifying.

Ryan Maifield kicked off his year with huge wins in the 2wd Modified class at the Cactus Classic, using Orange compound bar codes on RC10B4. The indoor season over the winter also saw many wins at the club level, with the Bar Codes in the Gold Compound. Ruona ran gold compound Bar Codes at the JConcepts Rage in winning fashion take both the 2wd & 4wd Modified classes at that event.

Now the popular BarCode is coming to the 1/8th scale buggy class. This tread pattern should provided excellent grip on the high bite blue/black grooved tracks. The 1/8th buggy class is racing on these types of surfaces increasingly at the larger national events.

Like the Sevens for 1/8th truck, the BarCodes could prove to be the ideal tires for the conditions that are expected this weekend at the ROAR Nationals. Follow the JC Team on jconceptsracing.net through the week for updates, pictures, and news from the pits.
