Well it was a busy weekend, Leisure Hours had there 17th annual Presidential day races, there were 176 entries for electric on Saturday and 112 entries for 1/8th scale on Sunday.
I kept plenty busy racing mod short course, working in the hobby shop, and helping with the announcing. In the 3 qualifiers I finished 2nd, 1st and 2nd qualifying 2nd overall out of about 38 entries in the mod short course class. The track was very high grip for the qualifiers and just started to dry a little for the mains. When the tone went off Brian Mellow from Team AE and Pro-Line who had TQ’d, and I separated ourselves a little from the rest of the pack. Mellow and I swapped for the lead several times in the first couple minutes and I was finally able to get a little bit of a lead and bring home the victory. I used Gold Bar Codes in the rear, I left the outer tread with the center cut down to slicks, green Double Dee’s up front. I had awesome traction all day and used it to consistently downside a double tabletop where I made up ground on many people who could not make the jump. It was a great weekend of racing and I hope we can bring home several more wins with the JC tires.
