Travis Dupree TQ and Wins with JConcepts at the 11th Annual Fall Brawl.

Event: 2012 Fall Brawl
Date: December 1-2, 2012
Track: The Badlands RC Supercross
Race Reporter: Travis Dupree

The 2012 Badlands RC Supercross Fall Brawl is an annual event ran on the first weekend of December in Myrtle Beach, SC. The race is the final large event in the Southeast Region typically. The race has grown tremendously over the years with the help of Track Manager Kevin Bullock, and the rest of the Badlands Crew. There were 225 entries this year. The weather is fairly mild this time of year, so the race is usually ran without any weather concerns.

Running JConcepts tires made for easy adjustments to the car. Friday started with open practice in the morning and by noon, was turned to controlled 5 minute sessions to allow everyone to have a fair shot of practice. The controlled practice worked well and allowed everyone to try various changes to the car and engine. The standard tire for the car was the Green Hybrid.

Saturday morning the track was not showing a blue groove as normal do to the moisture and cooler temperatures at night. By mid-morning, the track was grooving really fast. I was able to TQ the first two rounds, so the overall TQ was a lock with only 3 rounds being ran. I missed TQ in the 3rd round by four tenths of a second, so not a bad round in any way. As Sunday mains proceeded, the traction in the track was really starting to increase. By the time the A-main of Pro Buggy started the track was at its peak for traction so I chose Blue Hybrids. As soon we hit the track for warm-up, I knew the Blue Hybrids were dialed. The horn sounded for the main, and I was able to get a near perfect start off the line and gap the field a few seconds in the first half lap. The last 180 degree turn before entering the front stretch had so much bite, that I traction rolled and had to be marshaled. This dropped me back to 3rd, but only for a few laps and was back in the lead on the 11th lap. I was able to lead the rest of the way to end of the race. The car was so easy to drive with the consistency of the tires being what they were. Fellow JConcepts driver Brandon Melton finished 4th.

JConcepts tires and accessories are incredible. Thanks to JConcepts products, it made for a great weekend.
