The JBRL Electric Series – Final Results

The 2014 JBRL season has come to a close, with 9 rounds of racing over 8 months covering the finest tracks in southern California. The competition was fierce with everyone gunning for a title in their respected classes. The series had an all time high of 400 entries at the first round with averaging 200+ each round.

The final round took us to the famous Hot Rod Hobbies in Santa Clarita, California. With 170 entries made for 22 heats and a very nice day. JConcepts drivers, Kevin Motter, Jimmy Barnett and Tyler Hicks were in attendance and all were in points contention. During the first round of qualifying Kevin struggled in both buggy and short course. In the second round of qualifying Kevin strapped it up taking the TQ in short course and only missing TQ in buggy by 5 tenths of a second, so the main events looked like good ones! The main events were run under the lights, during the short course main Kevin lead it from the start and pulled off a win. In the buggy main Kevin made a mistake that put him back to sixth, but he put out a blistering pace battling back to second. With those results Kevin won the tie breaker in buggy by just one point over Cody Turner and missed the short course championship by 3 points.

For the indoor rounds the Team chose to use a combo of Bar Codes and Dirt Webs in the gold compound, with the Mono wheels and Dirt-Tech inserts proving to be durable on the large jumps and sweepers. The Outdoor rounds running on sugar tracks where the tire wear was high, the new JConcepts Dirt Webs in the red compound provided awesome consistency, wear and durability in the hottest of conditions.

Congratulations to Jimmy Barnett on taking the 4wd Buggy championship and to Tyler Hicks the 3rd overall spot in the 13.5 buggy class.
