JConcepts Winter INS – Round 3 Qualifying results

After 3 intense rounds of qualifying wrapped up here at the Winter INS at SmacTrac, the results are in! The 2wd stock buggy class saw a new leader jump atop the leader board once again. Brian Pflibsen would be the 3rd person to set TQ in the class giving one to Pflibsen, Mike Marshall, and Lucas Duncan. With the tie-breaker, the A-main grid would be Mike Marshall, Brian Pflibsen, and Lucas Duncan respectively.

With a not so terrific run in 2wd stock, Lucas Duncan quickly bounced back in stock truck and stock short course making it a clean sweep of TQ’s in the two classes and earn the right to lead the field around on this tight and technical track.

Mod truck was another display of dominant driving by TLR/JConcepts’ Max Flurer going a perfect 3 for 3 with his 22T. Tyler Jones and Alex Mueller will start 2nd and 3rd behind Flurer in the triple A-mains.

Already sealing the deal in 4wd, AE/JConcepts’ Alex Kosciuszek wasn’t able to improve on his final run, but will start 1st for tomorrow’s triple A-mains. Emerging the fastest in round 3 was Durango/JConcepts JP Richards who has been in the hunt in every qualifier and finally putting down his fastest run in the final round of qualifying. Richards commented that his Durango 4wd was “really good, but still a little edgy.”  Having a great round in 2wd and 4wd, AE/JConcepts’ Michael Paige drove with speed and precision netting him 2nd for the round with Max Flurer rounding out the top 3 in 4wd. Tomorrow’s triple A-main is now set with Kosciuszek on pole followed by Richards and Flurer in tow.

The 2wd modified TQ was still up for grabs between AE/JConcepts teammates, Kosciuszek and Borkowicz with one TQ a piece going into the final round. However, it would be Kosciuszek taking another TQ earning him top spot for tomorrow’s mains. JP Richards battled his heart out and for a moment it looked like he was going to eclipse Kosciuszek, but Richards would fall just a bit short and finish 2nd. With another excellent drive, Michael Paige would finish 3rd. Tomorrow’s 2wd grid will be Kosciuszek, Borkowicz and Richards.
