FORCE Series – Round 2

JConcepts drivers Griffin Hanna, JR Mitch, and John Bernard all come home with wins at the Force Series Round Two.

Last Friday it was off to round two of the Force Series in Perry, Florida at Blue Rock Raceway. With other races being scheduled at the same time, the turnout was uncertain, but the Force Series didn’t disappoint on Saturday with a total entry count over 125. The Blue Rock Raceway facility has top notch driver stand, track, and concessions. All JConcepts team members were a force to be reckoned with as drivers traveled in from all over for a piece of the action.

Saturday after a good night sleep it was time to go racing. The Blue Rock track conditions (a mix of hard packed blue groove areas with some dust mixed in) stayed about the same for round one as we had in practice the day before.

In round one of pro eBuggy, JConcepts driver, JR Mitch edged out JConcepts teammate, Griffin Hanna from Tabor City, North Carolina on JConcepts Green Hybrids. In 40+ eBuggy, JConcepts driver Walter Cruz took the top spot with JConcepts reflex in green compound. Round two saw the track change a bit with the dust factor increasing. Griffin mounted up some JConcepts blue Diamond Bars and he grabbed the TQ spot in eBuggy with a great run in round two, right in front of teammate JR Mitch. Pro Truggy round two, JR Mitch took TQ honors with his JConcepts equipped TLR 8ight T 4.0 on Chasers in blue compound. John Bernard held down the top spots in both eTruggy and 4wd SCT with his JConcepts decked out Tekno rides.

The mains again saw an increase of more dust at the beginning and it tapered off as the sun would fall and we finished under the lights. Both A1’s for eBuggy and eTruggy saw JConcepts drivers JR Mitch and John Bernard both found wins, but it was only John who came back in A2 with a win, as Griffin Hanna won A2 in eBuggy which gave him the overall win on JConcepts green Lil Chasers. Pro Truggy had JR Mitch taking the win after the 35 minute A main finishing on the same set of blue Chasers from qualifying. The 35 minute nitro buggy main was the showcase showdown of the night with JR starting 2nd and Griffin starting 3rd on the grid and it was on. After a good start by both JConcepts drivers it looked to be a long battle to the end, but after several mistakes on Mitch’s part, he handed Griffin a good size lead. Mitch tried to mount a comeback in the middle part of the race turning some hot laps with his JConcepts Green Detox tires, but all was for not as Griffin took his JConcepts Green Detox tires to victory lane and JR Mitch came in second.

All in all a great weekend for the JConcepts team showcasing the team’s products, determination and skills in the part of the state we don’t get to visit much. Great job by the whole Blue Rock Raceway crew. We look forward to the next race that brings us to your neck of the woods.
