IMG_7086The 2014 JConcepts Indoor National Series Finals ‘open practice’ is underway at the massive Hobbyplex Raceway. This fantastic 5 race series travels the nation in search of the most competitive racing the U.S. has to offer and has made its’ final stop in Omaha, Nebraska. With the expected turnout to be just under 300 entries deep, this year’s finale is also going to decide who is the king of the INS in 2014.

JCO3079During 2012, legendary tire builder, Brian Kinwald, came up with a hand-made tire design. After testing at indoor and outdoor tracks around the country, qualifying results during the 2012 Hot Rod Shootout and working together with JConcepts designer Jason Ruona, the Dirt Webs tire was born. Production tire versions debuted during the 2013 IFMAR World Championships at Silver Dollar Raceway in Chico, CA, where Ryan Maifield used the front buggy tire to his advantage during the A-Final events taking the fastest lap times on his way to a 3rd overall podium finish in the 2wd class.

4th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot Out

IMG_1883(1)Michael Paige TQ’s and wins with JConcepts at RJD Hobbies 4th annual Turkey Shoot Out.

RJD Hobbies in Lincoln, IL held their 4th annual Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot Out Race on Saturday November 30th.

In the 2WD Mod Buggy class, Team Associated/JConcepts driver Michael Paige set the pace with his JConcepts equipped B5M and took the TQ to start the 6-minute main event and taking the overall win.

In the 4WD Modified class Paige’s JConcepts equipped B44.3 dominated the competition by being the only driver to turn 23 laps in the main. Paige cruised to a easy win, taking his second victory of the event.

During the early stages of 2014, the team experimented with a larger 60mm | 2.4” bead mounting diameter at events such as the Cactus Classic and Surf City Classic. In the hands of Spencer Rivkin, the 60mm tire and wheel combination displayed advantageous performance in high-grip conditions. The taller bead combined with the included 60mm Dirt-Tech inserts provide a steady base for high-performance.

3rd Annual Cold Turkey Classic

IMG_0398The JCP Cold Turkey Classic hosted by JCP-RC Raceway in Indianapolis, IN was held over Thanksgiving weekend. A great turnout for the event on Saturday with 100 entries for the Electric only event. With some the fastest 2wd Mod buggy drivers in attendance from around the area it was going to be a great day of racing.

JConcepts team driver Tyler Jones was in attendance running 2wd and 4wd Mod Buggy.

BeachRC Grand Opening Race

mod truckOver the weekend of November 15-16, BeachRC in Myrtle Beach, SC hosted their Grand Opening Race. The BeachRC crew did a fantastic job with the track and facility and it showed, with 160+ entries all from the surrounding areas. There were multiple JConcepts drivers in attendance at this race including Tim Smith, Max Flurer, Kevin Bullock, Ken Rand and John McGinty just to name a few.

JCO3237JConcepts has upped the ante with the release of the new Dirt-Tech closed cell inserts. Gray in color, the new inserts are designed in conjunction with tire insert guru, Brian “Dirt” Kinwald to bring the ultimate touch and feel while providing utmost durability. The inside has horizontal channels cut in a 360 pattern to soak up the large impacts and help create forward bite and increase acceleration.

4th Annual JConcepts Winter Indoor Shootout

DSCN2393Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs Missouri held the 4th Annual JConcepts Invitational and Winter Indoor Shootout. This year’s event had one of the best classes of the Invitational, the Reedy format of 5 main events of 2Wheel on Saturday and 5 main events of 4Wheel on Sunday with a control tire being JConcepts Dirt Webs in Green compound. The open classes being ran in the standard format of 4 rounds of qualifying using qual points. Friday’s practice had all of the drivers getting laps in on the fun flowing circuit built just for this event. With 2 bowl turns, and a lot of elevation changes, this year’s track was fun to get around in both Stock and Mod.

Battle Of The SiKest

Pro Buggy ChampionRyan Maifield TQ’s Pro Buggy and Pro Truggy, taking the win in Pro Buggy with JConcepts.

SiK Track Designs together with AZRCR have come together for a great battle in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona.  Held at the Fear Farm RC Raceway, the event organized by Levi Jackson of SiK Track Designs saw some of the best in 1/8th scale racing battle it out in the ever changing Arizona weather conditions.

Georgia Indoor Championships

IMG_7672JConcepts Heats Up Atlanta at the First Annual 2014 “GIC”

HotShots R/C Raceway played host to roughly 140 entries at the first annual Georgia Indoor Championships on November 15th, 2014. The race schedule was Friday open practice with Saturday having 3 rounds of IFMAR qualifying and extended single mains with bump-ups. Carl Knight and the HotShots crew did a fantastic job providing the racers with a great layout and super consistent surface. This was JConcepts first official trip to HotShots and we felt right at home after being greeted by some amazing people; Owner Brad Galyean, Scott Vandoran, Carl Knight, local JConcepts drivers Mark Moon, Tylor Weaver and many other local racers.
