JConcepts lands in Beaumont CA.
After stopping by Walmart (yes seriously a Walmart)for a sweatshirt (it was supposed to be hot) and a somewhat unique Chuck Norris t-shirt. I dialed into my favorties on my phone and asked Allison to save me for Thursday with a fresh JC sweatshirt 🙂 request answered – of course 🙂
Heading out to the track I found an absolutely beautiful track. Rob
Jackson and crew really stepped up for the nationals. High elevation, rolling double jumps, step ups and breaking bumps highlight the Thunder Alley layout.
With all due respect to other series and national type events. The ROAR nationals is still the premier event and most sought after title in the United States. I’m looking for more racers to support ROAR events and respect the history of the nationals and the once a year type competition.
Nats first report – product news
JConcepts is taking to the Max at this years ROAR nationals.
JConcepts has unveiled the new Max-ups 1/8th buggy wheel that had been in development for nearly 2 months. Racers asked and they received courtesy of JC. Look for Max-ups at your local dealer or supplier very soon.
Also in development at the nationals are some new light weight tire
inserts most notably recognized by the JConcepts blue color. Look
for these to appear and come with all JConcepts tires after testing has completed.
JConcepts came prepared for 60 minute mains with the new Double Cross tire. The Thunder Alley track crew has been keeping the surface wet so the new tires have remained out of site until the blue groove appears.
In the first round of practice the newly released Hit Men have been a
popular tire choice in Blue Compound. Personally my first practice
run ended in some pretty serious glitching issues. I was able to put in roughly 7 minutes with my steady RC8. The car felt good but it would be nice to have some more practice 🙂 Is someone on frequency yellow? Haha
Ryan Maifield had his RC8 in cruise control and looked highly comfortable with Max-ups and Hit Men. Ryan is currently mounting Cross Hairs and Double Dee’s to test the standard assortment. This guy is fast!
Rick Howart choose Cross Hairs for practice 1 and looked tight and smooth. Rick will be extra fast with more wheel time.
More info coming soon
