Ryan Maifield wins Short Course Modified with new JConcepts Bar Codes, Raptor body and Rulux wheels. JC has another strong showing in 2wd, 4wd and modified truck.
If its July is must be time for another trip to the world famous Hot Rod Hobbies for the annual Shootout event. Each year the best off-road electric drivers convene for a winner take all battle of electric royalty in 1/10th off-road. For the 13th annual, things were a little different, Short Course has now been officially added making it an electric spectacular.
JConcepts was well represented once again bringing out some of the latest products as well as relying on some existing products specifically designed for tracks like Hot Rod Hobbies.
The Code of Silence has been broken at JConcepts, and the Short Course Bar Codes are out. Ryan Maifield raced in the Expert 2wd Short Course, which was the class of the field all weekend. Ryan’s brand new SC10 Factory Team was on rails, courtesy of JConcepts Bar Codes. Fresh for this event and with perfect timing JConcepts unleashed the black groove track weapon onto the competition.
Ryan took TQ in 3 out of 4 rounds earning him the valuable pole position. JConcepts teammates Chad Due qualified 3rd with Cody Turner, Tanner Denney also joining Ryan in the A-main racing on SCT Bar Codes. Racing rivals Jared Tebo and Brian Kinwald sat 2nd and 4th on the grid respectively.
In the triple A-main format, Maifield came out blazing taking A-main 1 and 2 to lock up the championship for his respective teams and introductory products. Taking 2nd was Jared Tebo with the “Dirtinator” Brian Kinwald taking 3rd.
JConcepts / Associated driver Ryan Maifield was a force to be reckoned with all weekend in modified truck (2nd qualifier) and 4wd modified running the all new Punisher B44 body (2nd qualifier) and 2wd modified (4th qualifier). Ryan finished a strong 3rd place overall in each class after hard fought triple A-main events. Joining Ryan in the A-main on JConcepts Bar Codes was Steven Hartson.
Jimmy Babcock the famed race director and announcer has put on yet another successful Shootout, congratulations to all the winners and especially the Hot Rod Hobbies staff on a terrific event.
