This weekend I am off to Surprise, Arizona, home of the Nitro Pit. The Pit is one of the biggest tracks in the country, known mostly for hosting the world famous Nitro Challenge each February, and the Nitro Cross invitational race ever two years. This track draws the best racers from all over the world each year. This time we won’t be hitting the track in the coolness of spring, but in the middle of one of the hottest Septembers to date. With temperatures over 105, drivers will have to battle more then just the grueling track layout.
The Byrons Fuel race, has drawn some of the fastest Pro and Sportsman drivers from around the country. With a $10,000 dollar total purse up for grabs, the action is sure to be intense on the track.
Many JConcepts drivers including Ryan Maifield and Tanner Denney, will be in the middle of the action trying to find themselves holding the big checks at the end of the night.
With the hot temps and blistering sun making the track hard and dusty in the daytime. For buggy we will be looking to use JConcepts Subcultures and Crossbows in Blue and Yellow compounds, and Crosshairs in truggy in blue to help with tire wear. Once the sun goes down we will have to prepare for an entirely different surface. The rich dirt found at The Pit will start holding water and become easier on tires. With these conditions we’ll change Subcultures and DD’s inĀ our super soft Green compound to help our drivers stay up front in their races.
Stay close to the JConcepts blog for more pictures and write-ups on this wild west shootout for cash.
