Event: 2011 ROAR 1/8th off-road nationals – Warm-up
Date: April 2-3 , 2011
Location: Thunder Alley – Beaumont, CA
Ryan Maifield takes 1/8th buggy warm-up race as racers prepare for the ROAR nationals.
Drivers converged at Thunder Alley in Beaumont, CA for the ROAR 1/8th nationals warm-up race. It was a great time for the fastest drivers to get some wheel time at the normally elevation heavy, rhythmical Southern California track. The TA track crew did their usual terrific job of staying on top of the conditions while keeping it slightly wet for the qualifiers and main events.
Ryan Maifield put down the fastest runs in qualifying earning the TQ in the 1/8th buggy pro class. Sitting out front, Ryan took on the daunting challenge of the 60 minute A-main with style. Leading from “wire to wire”, Ryan made only one mistake during the main while maintaining great composure negotiating the challenging track. His speedy pit crew did the dirty work getting him in and out of the pits quickly and clean. Ryan crossed the finish-line in 1st with Ty Tessman finishing 2nd and Jared Tebo in 3rd.
Equipped with JConcepts all weekend Ryan’s RC8b was decked out with Punisher body, Illuzion HD rear wing and the versatile Hybrid tire.
Look for Ryan at 2 upcoming 1/8th buggy races as the team prepares for the Silver State Nitro Challenge and the Neobuggy race later this month.
