Format: 2 IFMAR Rounds, Single 6 minute A-Mains
This past weekend, Losi’s Frank Root, made the trek up to Racer’s Haven for the 4th Round of the 2011 Jimmy Babcock Racing League. The track layout was fast and fun with good grip setting up for an awesome weekend of racing. Frank chose JConcepts tires to push his XXX-SCT into Victory Lane

Qualifying started off well for Frank. In the first round, the track was just been sprayed with Root Beer to aid the traction, but it took a few races to start working properly. Frank would choose Orange Bar Codes front and rear with Close Cell inserts for the track conditions. After a bobble, Frank would settle for 3rd after the first round. The second round of qualifying was quite a different story though. The track had become much quicker as a solid blue groove had formed. Frank was out front in his heat, and on a new TQ when disaster struck, and he was forced to retire and fall back on his first round time. Starting 8th, Frank had some work to do, but was confident in his truck and a fresh set of Orange Bar Codes going into the 6-minute final. Frank quickly passed 3 cars on the opening lap to move up to 5th. Then, one by one, Frank moved his way to 2nd, and started to chase down the leader and TQ. Frank got there with 3 minutes to go, and the battle began. Looking high and low, Frank had to wait several laps until making a strong pass in the first turn off the straight taking the lead! Frank would then cruise home the final few laps to take his second A-Main victory in as many weeks! Frank had this to say about the race, “I knew it would be a challenge starting that deep in the pack, but the Orange Bar Codes felt so hooked up in warm up, I knew I could get to the front. My XXX-SCT with JConcepts rubber has been really strong, and I am looking forward to the Shootout next month to see how I stack up against the Nation’s best.”
