It was a long day at the track for just 2 runs each but that’s how it goes with 530 entries. We learned quite a bit today, the track changes throughout the day and you have to make the proper adjustments along the way. It’s actually quite warm here, the heat of the day makes the track dry out and almost blue groove. Just about when it looks like its going to dry out, they put a bunch of water down.
Keeping up with the changing conditions and nervousness of the drivers is a part of the game here. Some noteworthy drives today in practice from Maifield and Evans in both classes. Jeremy Kortz looked very good in the last buggy round and had some low 41’s. Billy Fischer looked good with his nitro buggy and the new Durango truggy is rolling into shape. Tanner Denney was on point with the truggy and has one of the faster laps I’ve heard during practice.
We jump to truggy qualifying only today, so I hope to send a few highlights during the day. Stayed tuned.
