2013 January Jam *UPDATED*

Martin Harrison, Blake Boggs and Kevin Hawkinson TQ and Win with JConcepts.

The 2013 January Jam hosted by Flowood RC Indoor Park had 295 entries and was the largest jam event to date. JConcepts Driver Martin Harrison ran three classes, 1/8 eBuggy, 1/8 eTruggy and 2wd mod buggy. The race format was 3 qualifiers and double A-Mains in the electric classes. Martin’s eBuggy and eTruggy were equipped with green Hybrids which allowed him to TQ and win every qualifier, setting some of the fastest times ran during the event.

Martin’s 2wd Buggy was a work in progress but showed great potential as he qualified 2nd on the grid. Martin went with green Bar Codes all weekend on his 2wd.

Because this was a one day event the track surface temps changed many times as the day progressed and the temperatures dropped. In A1 of eBuggy, Martin was loose and did everything to finish as well as could be expected. In A2 he changed his tire choice from green Hybrids to blue Hybrids and was back on pace to finish in the number one spot taking 2nd overall in 1/8 eBuggy.

JConcepts Driver, Kevin Hawkinson ran in Mod Short Course, taking the TQ and the win. Kevin ran Double Dees up front and green Pressure Points on the rear.

Martin’s eTruggy was performing well and after winning both A1 and A2 he secured the top spot on the podium.

The 2wd Buggy class was everything he expected, close and precise. On the last lap of A1, Martin was able to make a pass to finish in the number 2 spot. In A2 of 2wd mod, his tires were just getting good as he was able to take the lead from start to finish and take the number 2 spot on the podium.

JConcepts Team Driver Blake Boggs ran 4×4 SCT, Nitro Truggy, Nitro Buggy and eBuggy. In 4×4 SCT Blake was able to TQ each round of qualifying and easily win the double amains. JConcepts Pressure Points in Green were glued to the track and the JC Hi-flo was super easy to drive. In Nitro Truggy Blake was able to TQ 2 out of 3 rounds with green Hybrids and the Punisher, and take the main by a lap on the entire field. In Nitro buggy Blake didn’t have very good qualifying with missing the first round and top 5 second and 2nd in round 3. JConcepts Finnisher and Stackers in green were the tire of choice to lead me to the win. In eBuggy Blake qualified 3rd with super close field and finished 4th with finnisher and green Hybrids.
