The 2013 Winter Midwest Championships has run through the qualifying days, and with a strong showing of the JConcepts team, we have many drivers in the A main.
The ever changing track conditions have played with the drivers ability to know the right tire choice. Even though it is indoors, the weather has played a factor. Record high temperatures have made the track actually get wetter during the day. Because of the warm air, and the cooler indoor concrete floored building, it is creating humidity that is giving the top of the soil moisture. Thursday’s practice was cold, and the track dried out more than any other time this weekend. So what worked on Thursday, does not work on Saturday.
For team JC, it is a balance of scrubbed in Bar Codes-Gold (half pin) or Pressure Points, in the SCT, and Truck classes. Pressure Points in Blue have worked for some. For the Buggy’s, it’s 1/2 pin, or 1/4 pin Bar Codes in Gold. With a few TQ’s for a round, it’s obvious that our tire is working. Looking at the 4Wheel Mod A main, we have 8 of the 10 driver qualified into the main, waiting for the bump ups to arrive. Right now we have 5 of 10 in 2Wheel Mod. And a TQ in Pro 4 with Matt Olsen and his JConcepts equipped MIP Pro4mance vehicle.
I am looking forward to the main events today, and see what kind of performance our drivers can finish with, after a great effort throughout the weekend.
