Day one was check-in/registration and technical inspection. Racers began to show up early morning excited to get their pits assigned and setup. From there racers began getting all their spec tires organized and glued for practice and qualifying. Once tires are glued; it’s time to finish up the final touches on their buggies and start getting everything teched. Batteries, motors, wings, chassis, wheels, etc are all items to be teched leading into timed practice and qualifying.
Day two is time to get a little more serious as it will be the first day cars can actually hit the track. The track crew did an amazing job getting the wet track back into perfect shape and drivers are extremely excited too get in their first run. At this point is when all the joking and laughing ends and all business begins. Conversations quickly change into lap times, shock oils, pistons, springs, camber location, difficult parts of the track, jump difficulty, etc…
Time to get my day started and will check back soon with some practice updates….stay tuned!
