Dustin Evans, Frank Root and Dave Duncan win with JConcepts at round 4 of the Short Course Showdown.
Addiction RC hosted of the 4th round of the Short Course Showdown. Dave Duncan made the trip from Florida to represent JConcepts and assist the team attending the race. Dustin Evans was running 3 classes total. 2wd mod short course with his TLR 22SCT, 2wd mod buggy with his TLR 22 2.0 and 4wd mod buggy with his TLR 22-4. Frank Root was running 4wd mod short course with his TLR SCTE 2.0 and Dave Duncan was running 2wd stock short course with his Team Associated SC10.2 .
Practice started Friday morning at 10am. There is a nice above the track watering system that kept the track evenly watered throughout the weekend for consistent lap times. The layout was fairly new and the track developed a nice groove. With the track being run damp, the JConcepts tire of choice was gold slicks for the whole team.
On Saturday morning the doors opened at 7am and 3 rounds of qualifying kicked off at 9:30am. Qualifying was based on qual points with your best 2 out of 4 rounds being used to seat you in the mains. All the A mains were seated with 8 cars and 2 bumps from the B main. After 3 full rounds of qualifying, JConcepts had team drivers sitting TQ in 4 classes.
On Sunday morning doors opened at 7am and a final round of qualifying started at 8am. After 4 full rounds of qualifying, JConcepts had team drivers still sitting TQ in 4 classes. Dustin Evans in 2wd mod short course and 4wd mod buggy. Frank Root in 4wd mod Short Course and Dave Duncan in 2wd stock short course.
In the Mains, Dustin led the race from tone to tone in 2wd mod short course taking the win with his JConcepts equipped TLR 22SCT running gold slicks front and rear. In the 2wd mod buggy race, Dustin started 2nd. With an awesome battle for first more than half the race, he was able to take the lead and the win with his JConcepts equipped TLR 22.2 running gold slicks front and rear. In the 4wd mod buggy race, Dustin led the race tone to tone taking the win with his JConcepts equipped TLR 22-4 running gold slicks front and rear. In the 4wd mod Short Course race, Frank Root had a few bobbles in the first few laps. He regained the lead within a few laps and took the win running gold slicks front and rear. In the 2wd stock short course race, Dave Duncan had a few bobbles in the middle of the race but regained the lead and took the win with his JConcepts equipped Team Associated SC10.2 running gold slicks front and rear.
