The 4th round of the Midwest Nitro Series hosted by Rivercity Raceway in Peoria,IL was held this past weekend. The weather wasn’t looking good but the event still pulled in 128 entries including TLR/JConcepts driver Tyler Jones.
Three rounds of qualifying kicked off and Tyler would put both of his JConcepts equipped TLR 8ight 3.0’s in the TQ position. In Pro Nitro Buggy and Pro Nitro Truggy, Tyler would wrap up the overall TQ after the second round of qualifying with all 0’s in qual points. He would sit out the third round of qualifying to prep for the mains.
The Truggy main was up first and Tyler took off at the tone and would stretch to a several lap lead. At 15 minutes in of the 25 minute main, his steering servo started to quit. His dad called up to him and said “Drive it with the brakes” and he did. It was amazing to see that and he would still finish second overall.
In Buggy the tone went off and Tyler never looked back, he would lead wire to wire again for the second round in a row for the series.
