The 5th annual Southern Nationals were held in West Monroe Louisiana at one of the best buildings in the southern region. A large track with a lot of elevation, large drivers stand and AC greeted the 276 drivers who were there. Race director Notch Johnson ran an excellent program to get all of the races completed in a timely fashion.
JConcepts driver Blake Boggs set the TQ in E-Buggy, but didn’t have luck in Sundays main event.
Martin Harrison starting from P2 in E-Truggy put in an awesome run in A1 to finish 2nd. Then went on to win A2 giving him 2nd overall for the class using Green Hybrids.
In SCT it was again Harrison in P2 at the tone. However great driving gave him the victory in A1 and A2 to take the class overall with Black 3Ds giving him the traction required on the challenging surface.
Strong runs by JConcepts drivers Blake Boggs and Jason Smith in Nitro Buggy as they chased world traveler Cole Ogden, fresh off the plane from Italy’s World Championships.
Another great event with a fun track and a well run program. Put this race on your to-do list. You will not be disappointed.
