Shay Brand TQ’s and wins with JConcepts at the 2014 Run For The Riches.
ROCCK Racing located in Knoxville, TN hosted their Run for the Riches “PART DEUX” event on December 6, 2014. With a $2,400 purse and many regional fast guys, the racing was going to be close. Their covered facility at Chilhowee Park in east Knoxville allows them guaranteed racing rain or shine.
JConcepts Team Driver Shay Brand was in attendance running Pro Buggy and Pro eBuggy. With some rain on Saturday morning, the moisture in the air had an effect on the track and made it pretty slick for round one. Shay ended up 2nd in Buggy and 8th in eBuggy after a really rough qualifier.
After a few changes to his cars to adjust to the slick track, Shay came back in Round 2 with a TQ in Pro Buggy running JConcepts Hybrids in Black Compound. In eBuggy, Shay was able to put in a decent run and was now sitting 2nd.
With the weather drying up and the track coming around, Shay put in another great run in both his classes to take the overall TQ in both.
Shay went on to lead the 10 minute eBuggy Main, wire to wire as well as the 30 minute Pro Buggy Main to take the victory in both his classes. Black Hybrids were the ticket on both cars all weekend long and Shay even mentioned the tire wear after the 30 minute Pro Buggy Main was barely noticeable.
