Tyler Jones had a great weekend racing Round 6 of the OHKY Winter Points Series…
I attended round 6 of the OHKY series this weekend at Adventure RC in Louisville,KY. There were nearly 230 entries for the one day electric event. Again, 2wd and 4wd mod buggy being the premiere classes going down to F mains. With several local and factory drivers in attendance, I knew it would be some great racing. The day consisted of 2 qualifiers and double A mains. The track layout was awesome and program was ran top notch.
In 2wd mod buggy during practice I knew I had a great TLR 22 2.0 for the race. Qualifying came and I had two decent runs with some mistakes that put me 7th overall on the grid for the double A mains. The first A main I put in a decent run and finished fourth. My dad and I made a small chassis adjustment for the second A main and changed from JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs to Green compound I made my way up to second with a little over a minute to go. I got crossed up on the center jump and had to be marshaled. That put me fourth with time running out. I put in a good charge and made it up to third just inches behind second place at the end.
In 4wd mod buggy practice, my TLR 22-4 was dialed and I knew I could take this class this weekend. Qualifying came and I TQ’d the class going into the double A mains. Main time came around and the only change we made to the car was going from JConcepts Gold Dirt Webs to Green compound. At the start of both A mains I was able to stay out front for wire to wire wins in both!!
