John Michael Mcginty sweeps the pro nitro classes at the 2015 Spring Sting with JConcepts.
The Badlands in Myrtle Beach, SC was the site of the 2015 Spring Sting. The annual race played host to 130+ entrees this year. JConcepts driver John Michael Mcginty updates us on how his weekend went…
On Friday morning we drove down to The Badlands and practiced most of the day.
Saturday started early with 3 rounds of qualifying and then straight into the mains. I ran Pro Buggy, Pro Truggy and E-Buggy.
In Pro Buggy I qualified 2nd for the main. In the main I was able to take the lead on lap 2 and started to check out on the field. About 5 minutes later I got caught up with lapped traffic and fell back to 2nd place. A few laps later I was able to get the lead back and led the rest of the race. In the main I ran Reflex’s in Blue compound. After the 30 minute main they looked great.
In Pro Truggy I was able to TQ. In the main I made some mistakes early and fell back to 2nd but quickly regained the lead and won by over a lap. I ran Green Hybrids in the first round which I TQ’d. I also ran Green Hybrids in the Main.
In E-Buggy I qualified 2nd. I won the first A-main and finished 2nd in A2 which gave me second place overall. My JConcpets Teammate Max Flurer would TQ and win.
We had a great weekend. All of My JConcepts equipped Mugen cars were awesome all weekend.
