JConcepts team driver Blake Boggs headed north to Kentucky to compete in the annual Black Saturday Blowout event. Blake sends us a quick recap of his racing and wins…
“Over this past weekend I attended the “Black Saturday Blowout” at Radioactive Raceway in Wingo, Kentucky. I raced 1/10 mod 2wd buggy along with 1/10 4wd buggy and 1/8 Ebuggy. With 120 entries in the one day event we ran Rocket Round with three, five minute qualifiers and single 8 minute A-mains.
In mod 2wd buggy my Team Associated B5M FL would be dialed all weekend on Black Dirt Webs along with the new S2 body. After close battles with Team Associated team mate Chris Rakus, also running Black Dirt Webs and Xray’s Nate Jaskot I would end up overall TQ. In the main Jaskot, Rakus and I would be swapping the lead early and eventually I would pull away near the end to take the win!
In 1/10 4wd buggy I would have a couple of rough qualifiers and a mechanical issue to land me in the 2nd starting spot Nate Jaskot. In the main Jaskot and myself would take an early lead pulling away from the group. After trailing Jaskot I was able to overtake and pull away for a solid win with my Team Associated B44.3 paired with Black Dirt Webs and Silencer body.
In 1/8 Ebuggy my Team Associated RC8B3E fitted with the Striker body and green Dirt Webs would take the TQ after close battles with Rakus and Jaskot. In the main Rakus would trail myself for a few laps, then I was able to fall into a groove and take the win to make a complete 1st place sweep in all classes.”
