The Victorian Drivers series is one of the biggest in Australia and 2015 was the biggest yet with over 480 entries received over 4 rounds of 1/10 electric outdoor dirt racing in Victoria, South Eastern Australia. Running from April until November, the series finished with the Keilor Cup with over 150 entries received for the one day event. Over the course of the series drivers encountered everything from cool damp clay, to grooved clay, to hot high grip sugared clay making tire choice critical. JConcepts figured strongly, winning 4 out of the 8 classes with many more podiums.
JConcepts factory racer Ray Munday took the series in the 4wd mod class with a narrow 2nd place in the 2wd modified class (coming down to A3 at the final round) with his AE buggies using JConcepts tires, wheels, bodies, wings, turnbuckles and other alloy accessories.
Scott Giles managed to do the double In the hotly contested 17.5T classes, the JConcepts driver winning both 2wd and 4wd 17.5T with his JConcepts shod TLR buggies.
9 year old Lachlan Munday took out the junior class (17.5T 2wd under 16) series, winning 3 out of 4 rounds also using JConcepts products on his Minecraft themed B5M.
Whilst he couldn’t compete in the full series due to work commitments, Andrew Selvaggi took out a round win and a 2nd in the resurgent truck class with his JConcepts T5M.
JConcepts has a tire for every occasion and this was pivotal through the course of the season, with the drivers using the full range from Flip Outs (damp mornings), to 3Ds (dusty groove), to Bar Codes, to Dirt Webs for fully grooved tracks. Dirt tech inserts, mono wheels, Finnisher bodies, and a full range of JConcepts alloy accessories were also used.
Thanks to JConcepts for the awesome products and support, and thanks to the racers and clubs who helped make the 2015 Victorian drivers series the biggest and best yet!
