This past weekend February 25th saw round 3 of the FSEARA on-road series hosted by SS Hobbies & Raceway located in Tampa, FL. The SS Hobbies track is a unique sealed concrete surface beautifully laid out under a steel pole barn building allowing for great racing rain or shine. Traction was a little tricky on the virgin sealer, but the JConcepts crew took full advantage of their A-One light-weight body/wing and it’s great balance of steering and stability.
JConcepts/Team Associated teammates Paul and AJ took a break from their usual off-road schedule to race some on-road touring car. This was AJ’s first official on-road race and he was quickly up to speed as he took the overall TQ in 17.5 expert touring car class with his JConcepts equipped TC7.1 Factory Team. AJ took full advantage of his P1 grid spot in the A-main as he went on to lead a wire-to-wire victory and the only car to go 34 laps. Corey Record and Ales Pelikan would have a great battle to finish 2nd and 3rd on the podium. The Pro Mod touring car class would see JConcepts very own Paul Wynn taking his JConcepts equipped TC7.1 Factory Team to the overall TQ spot after three very close rounds of qualifying. The A-main was a great battle as Paul and Dave Vera were bumper to bumper for most of the race, but in the end, Paul was able to maintain the lead for another wire-to-wire win. Dave would finish in the second spot and Monti Panzica finishing third.
Thank you to Dave Vera from FSEARA for a great series and a special thank you to the host track SS hobbies & Raceway run by the Setser family (Ronnie, Kim, Lee, and Kenny).
