Last week held one of the biggest carpet races on the east coast at the beautiful Beachline Raceway facility in Cocoa Beach, FL. For those who don’t know, Beachline used to be called Space Coast Raceway and hosted the ROAR 1/10th Off-Road Nationals back in 2014. Despite a track name change, a few surface updates ranging from dirt, turf, and now carpet, Beachline is still a big part of Florida’s race scene and now better than ever with fresh black carpet and fun jumps features.
With the new black carpet installed and a refresh on the facility means this place is looking amazing! However, with a new surface comes more testing on just about everything. From setup, tires, bodies, wings, and wheels, we ran through the entire package to create the fastest package possible and the results were extraordinary. As practice went on for the inaugural 2019 Florida Carpet Championships, the JConcepts drivers were getting dialed in and the driver that won the overall award for being the 1st ever Florida Carpet Champ is none other than our very own, Broc Champlin.
Broc was on fire in qualifying setting the overall TQ in both the 2wd Modified and 4wd Modified classes, but it was 4-time world champion, JConcepts’ Ryan Cavalieri pulling out the win in 2wd. Broc went on to finish 2nd with Daniel Kobbevik in 3rd, who ended up finding a lot of speed towards the end of the event.
However, converting the TQ spot into a win, Broc was determined to make the W happen and focused up during the triple mains and made it happen. Taken down the entire field of drivers in 4wd, Broc’s Team Associated B74 on JConcepts tires was on fire and took the class win. With a 2nd and 1st as a combined score, the Florida Carpet Championships 1st ever overall winner was Broc Champlin.
Now check out his tire guide and find out the little details that made the biggest difference in the end. Congrats to the entire JConcepts team for a remarkable effort over the weekend and pulling out massive wins in a lot of classes. Right-click and save the jpg below and add it to your files. JConcepts Track Tire Guide is a great tuning tool. Use one for all of the cars in my back yard turf series. Print out a full-color one for events; a black-and-white one for practice sessions. Looking forward to following the JConcepts Team in 2020.
Did Broc run the slim 3376 front wheel on the B74?
