Another weekend in the books equals more wins for the JConcepts race team! See where we won at the previous weekend in this week’s Race Team Update!
Let’s start this week’s report in Minnesota at FTR Raceway in Foley. This was the final round of the FTR State Championship Series and after qualifying had wrapped up team driver Ashton Abdul secured the top qualifying position in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! He would then go on to win in the 30 minute main event! Joining him on the podium were team drivers Tony Sletten (2nd) and Conrad Beise (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep! Ashton said he ran on Blue compound Reflexes and they were super consistent and fast!
In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class JConcepts driver Seth VanDalen took the TQ and the win! Joining him on the podium in 3rd was Ashton who used the same tire setup as his nitro program.
Staying in Minnesota let’s check in with JC driver Thor Ott who went back to race on the rug at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park. He was able to TQ all three rounds of qualifying in the Mod 2wd buggy class! In the main he would finish 2nd on the podium right behind team mate Kyle Holmberg who finished 1st! Thor said he used JConcepts Swaggers and Twin Pins to set the fastest times that day.
Now let’s head down to Illinois to check out the racing action at Eli Field in Monticello. They hosted the 4th Annual 1/5 Fall Fest and our driver Neil Pestka was in attendance. Saturday the weather didn’t cooperate as it rained all day. But on Sunday the weather cleared up and racing resumed! Neil qualified 3rd for the main and finished 2nd overall! He was able to land on the podium thanks to his JConcepts Reflex tires.
Now let’s jump two states to the east to check in with team driver Logan Wendling. He was racing at TARCAR in Toledo for the Ralph Jaquay Memorial Off-Road Race. He competed in the both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and would qualify and finish 5th in E Buggy, while in the nitro class he would start in 6th for the 20 minute main and take the win! His electric car was equipped with Green compound Reflexes on Bullet wheels with Finnisher 1/8 Wing Buttons. And his winning nitro car used Green compound Blockers on Bullet wheels with Finnisher 1/8 Wing Buttons again.
Now let’s head southeast into West Virginia to get an update from young JConcepts driver Miss Bella. She went to Tri-Cities RC Racing in Lavalette for the West Virginia State Championships. She competed in both the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes and finished 2nd in Truggy and took the W in E Buggy! She used Green compound Triple Dees on her Truggy and Green compound Teazers on her Buggy.
Continuing southeast into Virgina let’s check in with JC driver Logan Cowick. He was racing two classes at SCRC (Silver Creek Raceway) in Danville and finished 5th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy! He used Aqua compound Detox tires on both cars with a Silencer body and a F2I wing on the electric car and a S15 body on the nitro car.
Now let’s head up the coast to New Jersey to check in with team driver Tom Petrella who did some dirt oval racing at Hoagland R/C Speedway in Jobstown. This was the first time he raced oval this year but still qualified 4th and finished 2nd in the main in the Big Block Mudboss class!
Now let’s check in with the overseas team starting with team driver Ben Panic. On Sunday he raced at Illawarra RC in Albion Park, NSW, Australia and finished 3rd in the 30 minute main while running on Green compound Kosmos and Triple Dees!
Next JC driver Aaron Dexter checks in to report his success at the King Of Whitman race at MORBC in Perth, WA, Australia. He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and took the TQ and win in the 40 minute main! For the long main he used R2 compound Detox tires.
Also competing at this race was team mate Brayden Johnston. After some mechanical issues in qualifying he started 10th in the B Main for 1/8 Nitro Buggy, but would get out in the lead to take the win! After bumping up into the A Main he was able to battle his way from the back of the pack to finish 5th place overall! He used Blue compound Stalkers for the main.
Finally, let’s check in with Jordan Miles who raced Electrosport RC in Ottawa, ON, Canada. He would double podium in both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy with a 2nd place finish in 4wd and a 3rd place finish in 2wd! Both buggies were running on Gold compound Ellipse tires.
