The third weekend of racing is in the books for November and the JConcepts race team keeps gobbling up the wins out on the track. Check out this week’s Race Team Update to see where we stuffed ourselves this past weekend!
This week’s race report starts down in Georgia at the Loganville RC Complex located in Loganville. They were the host track for the Georgia Off-Road Championship Series Finals that saw 136 entries that weekend. Let’s see how the team performed starting with team driver Jason Westfall. He reported that he took the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running on Green compound Rips in the front, Silver compound Ellipses in the rear and a F2 body! Joining him on the podium was team mate Chris VanRaemdonck in 3rd!
Team mate Cade Burnette was also competing in three class at this event: 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy, Pro E-Buggy and Nitro Truggy. Cade was on fire as he set the TQ in all three classes! In the Nitro Truggy 30 minute A Main he got off to great start and was leading at the 12 minute mark before a broken front A-arm ended his run. For the main he opted to use the Gold compound Ellipse tire, F2I wing and a Finnisher body. In the Pro E-Buggy class he set the TQ while running on Silver compound Ellipses with a F2I wing and Strike 2 body, but for the 10 minute main he switched over to the Gold compound and took the win! Finally, in the Pro Nitro Buggy class he again used Silver compound Ellipses in qualifying and switched over to the Gold compound for the main. He went on to take the win while also using a F2I wing and Strike 2 body! This class was also a money pay out class so he also walked away with $420!!
Now let’s head to Florida to get an update from the team competing at Mills Pond RC Speedway in Fort Lauderdale. Starting with team driver Nelson Garcia, he reported that he took 1st place in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while running on Green compound Stalkers in the morning and Green compound Reflexes for the main!
Also competing was JC driver Robert Romano who was back to racing after a three month break. He was able to power his Tekno ride for the win in the 1/8 E-Buggy class while running on Green compound Stalkers!
Now let’s head up to South Carolina to Sumter which is where Sumter RC Raceway is located. They held their Toys for Tots race and team driver Logan Cowick was at this event. He reports that he was able to double down on the TQ in both the 1/8 Pro Nitro and Electric Buggy classes! In the mains he finished 2nd in E-Buggy while running on Silver compound Ellipses and took the win in the Nitro class while using Green compound Reflex tires! All tires were mounted on Bullet wheels and both buggies uses S15 bodies.
Now let’s head up the coast more into Connecticut and stop in Enfield which is where RC Madness is located. They were running their 2020 Turkey Gobbler Race and team driver Tom Bishop filed the following report. He competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and qualified 5th in 2wd and 4th in 4wd.
And the end of the day he locked up the final podium spot in 4wd and finished 6th overall in 2wd! His 4wd ride was using a F2 body, Nessi and Swagger tires, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance Rear Wing, and his 2wd car ran the same setup except for a S2 body.
Now let’s fly back east to Ohio to check on JC driver Miss Bella. She was in Jeffersonville racing at The Ohio RC Factory for Round 1 of the 2021 1/8 FRL. She competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and took 2nd place for the round! She used Green compound Reflex tires, Dirt Tech inserts, Bullet wheels and a Finnisher body.
Now let’s hop up to Michigan and stop in Grandville to check out the race action at Grand River RC. They were holding their points race and team driver Chris Rothwell competed in the Stadium Truck class and qualified 2nd and after a rough start had to settle for 5th overall. His truck was running fast though on Silver compound Ellipses on all four corners!
Now let’s float down to Iowa and stop in at Fort Dodge which is home to Iowa Outlaw RC. They held the first round of their Winter Points Series and JC driver Brandon Kearney competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. At the end of the day he finished 2nd in both while running the following JConcepts gear:

Now let’s head over to Nebraska to the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex in Omaha. On Saturday they held Round 1 of their Tekno 1/8 Winter Series so let’s see how the team performed. Team driver Mason Fuller was competing in both the 1/8 Expert Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and reports he was able to finish 2nd in both while running on Gold compound Ellipses!
Team mate Ashton Abdul was also racing in both classes and finished 5th in Nitro Buggy and 3rd overall in E-Buggy! He also used Gold compound Ellipses mounted on Bullet rims.
Team driver, and race director, Alex Sturgeon also took 1st place in the 1/10 Mini Truggy class while running our Finnisher body and Silver compound Ellipses!
Now let’s head south into Oklahoma to check in with team driver Heath Lawson. He was in Oklahoma City at MOJO Hobby for their 2nd annual Jim Woodman Memorial Race. He said his Late Model was running fast all day and he took the TQ and win while running on Blue compound Ellipses in the rear, Dirt Webs up front and a L8 Night body!
Now let’s shoot down into Texas to check on the team for the finals for the RC Pro Series hosted by Thornhill Racing Circuit in Austin. JC driver Phi-Long Nguyen competed in the 1/8 Nitro 4wd Buggy class and finished 4th overall! He used both our Silver and Blue compound ReHab tires. Also competing was team mate Dillon Caldwell. He competed in both the 1/8 Pro Nitro and Electric Buggy classes and reports that he finished 5th in Nitro Buggy and set the TQ and grabbed 4th in the E-Buggy class!
Now let’s fly out west to Bakersfield, CA to Rain-Man’s Hobby & Raceway which was the host of the JBRL Electric Series Round #3. Team driver Levi Raymond took 3rd place in the 17.5 Sportsman 2wd Buggy class while running Silver compound Ellipses, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance Rear Wing!
His brother and team mate Chase Raymond took 1st place in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class while the same gear as Levi!
Joining them on the podium that weekend in both the 17.5 Expert 2wd and 13.5 Expert 4wd Buggy classes was team mate Doug Lariviere. He took the double TQ and win in both classes while running on Silver compound Ellipses!
Also taking a double TQ and win at this event was JC driver Broc Champlin! He won in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes while running on Silver compound Ellipses too!
Finally, let’s head up the coast to Portland, OR to the PDX RC Underground to check in with team driver Ryan Reavis. He reports he took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class at the 2nd Round of the JP Fall Classic Series! He used our Nessi and Swaggers tires, a P2K body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance Rear Wing.
