As the temperatures drop outside the JConcepts team stays hot on the track as it continues to pull in W’s! Check out our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in Blue Springs, MO where Fastlane Raceway is located. This past weekend they held their 2021 Off-Road Jam trophy race and we had several drivers in attendance so let’s get a few updates on their results.
Team driver Matthew Pyle reports that he competed in the both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes that weekend and finished 9th overall in 4wd and 8th in 2wd! He used Gold compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses for the race on his buggies.
Also competing in those classes was teammate David Alberico who finished 2nd in Mod 4wd and 4th in Mod 2wd!
JC driver Stevie Slover competed in 3 classes and finished 5th in Mod 2wd, 8th in Mod 4wd and took the TQ and win in the 13.5 SCT class!
His dad and fellow JConcepts driver Travis Slover competed in both the 21.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes. He would finish 5th in 21.5 Buggy and 4th in Stadium Truck! Both vehicles ran on Silver compound Ellipses mounted to Mono wheels on all four corners.
JConcepts driver Braxten Culley also competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and finished 2nd in Mod 2wd and 3rd overall in Mod 4wd! Joining him on the podium were teammates Drew Rubenking (TQ & 1st) and Brad Dean (3rd) to complete the podium sweep for JConcepts!
Now we stay in state and move to the town of Sullivan to visit the RC Monster Truck Winter Series event that was held over the weekend in KC Hall. JConcepts has partnered up with Childress Racing to support this event and we had a large outing by the team so let’s check on their results starting with team driver Daniel Agosh.
He reports that he made the quarter finals in the Sport Mod class with his Executioner monster truck decked out the following JConcept goodies:

- Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor
- Renegades Monster Truck Tires (Gold compound)
- Tribute 2.6 x 3.6″ Monster Truck Wheels
Also crushing the competition was JC mate Jeremy Mark. He competed in the Sport Modified class with his replica Sudden Impact rig and would take the win in the 32-truck elimination bracket! His truck was decked out the following JC gear:

Also competing was teammate Josh Rhodes in the Retro class. After qualifying 2nd his replica Bigfoot IV would take the win while running the following JConcepts gear:

And running awesome at this event was team driver Chris Parrish. He also competed in the Retro class and his rig was loaded with JConcepts option parts:

Now we shoot down to Texas to get an update from team driver Gary Guffey Jr. who was in Arlington which is where GoldStar Hobbies and Raceway is located. They recently held their Round 1 of their Stock Series and he finished 3rd on the podium in the Expert Stock 2wd Buggy class while using Swaggers up front and Twin Pins in the rear!
Heading east we settle in Helena, AL where Warehouse Hobby Raceway is located. Team driver Danny Smith recently raced there in the Mod 4wd Buggy class and took the TQ and win while running on Green compound Dirt Webs.
His teammate Randy Enger was also racing there in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and he took the win in the main! He ran a S15 body along with Aqua compound Ellipses on his Team Associated ride.
Taking a detour down south into Florida we check out the racing action at Beachline Raceway in Cocoa.
Team driver Brett Kingsbury reports that last week he competed in both the Expert 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and walked away with the double TQ and win! Both cars used F2 bodies along with Twin Pins and Swaggers tires.
Now let’s head back north into Georgia to check on the team as they competed at the final round of the G-Force series hosted by Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah. Starting with team driver Carlos España he reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and took the win in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class! His truggy used our Triple Dees tires while his E Buggy used Teazers. Joining him on the podium in the E Buggy class was teammate David Olsen in 2nd!
Speaking of David, he also competed in the 1/8 Pro Electric and Nitro Buggy classes too. For the finals he would finish 2nd in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy class and took the wins in the other two! His buggies used Silver compound Ellipses while his truck used the same tread pattern but in the Gold compound. All tires were mounted to Bullet wheels and he also used a S15 body on his nitro ride and both buggies were equipped with F2I wings. And after the series points were added up, he would take the overall title in all three classes!
Let’s next head up the coast and veer off into Bloomsburg, PA where Fairgrounds RC Raceway is located. Our driver Tim Rothenberger recently raced there in the Mod Sprint class and finished 2nd overall while running on Black compound Ellipses in the rear and Green compound Ellipses up front!
Staying in Pennsylvania we now go to York which is home Scale Speed. Team driver Mark Unrath raced there recently and finished 2nd overall in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class while running on Swaggers up front and Twin Pins in the rear!
Heading over to Enfield, CT we get the following report from team driver Eric Bresnahan. He visited RC Madness over the weekend for their January Jam race that saw over 100 entries.
He competed in the Mod 2wd SCT class and took the TQ and win while running a HF2 SCT body, Swaggers up front and Pin Downs in the rear.
Now let’s fly back west into Warren, MI where the RC Clubhouse recently held their Winter Classic. We had another strong showing by the JConcepts team so let’s get some updates starting with team driver Chris Rothwell.
He competed in both the 17.5 2wd Buggy and 13.5 Stadium Truck classes and would finish 3rd in buggy and took the win in truck! He said sanded down Ellipses on all four corners were the way to go.
Teammate Russ Bryant competed in the Open 2wd SCT class and took the TQ and win while running on Silver compound Ellipses and a Hi-Flow SCT body!
Team driver Logan Wendling competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and just missed transferring to the A in 17.5 2wd and finished 2nd overall in wheeler! Both bugs used sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires and Mono wheels.
Also racing was team driver Colin Miles. He competed in three classes and finished 5th in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 2nd in 13.5 Stadium Truck and took the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He used a P2 body on his 2wd, a S2 body on his 4wd and a Finnisher body on his truck. All vehicles used sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires.
Bouncing south into Indiana we dribble over to Granger where RC Fun Park and Hobbies is located. Team driver Tyler Jones competed in their recent 1/8 Scale Awesomeness event and took the win in the 15 minute main for the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! He said Silver compound Ellipses were hooked all day long.
Now let’s go over to Minnesota and get a few updates from the team competing at various tracks. Starting with driver Nathan Joarnt he did some recent club racing at MMR in Saint Louis Park and finished 2nd overall in the Stock Buggy class while running on Twins Pins, Swaggers, plus used a F2 body and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance Rear Wing!
Teammate Joe Zaier Jr. was club racing over in Foley at 510 Raceway and finished 2nd overall in the Mini Truggy class on Silver compound Ellipses! Joining him on the podium in 3rd was teammate Conrad Beise!
And team driver Joe Scaramell also raced at 510 and finished 3rd in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was teammate Kyle Holmberg!
Now let’s roll dice over to Las Vegas, NV and stop in at 702 RC Raceway to get this update from team driver Brian Perry. Over the weekend he did some club racing and finished 2nd overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and took the win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class! Both cars were hit the jackpot while running on Twin Pins and Swagger tires.
Continuing west we stop at San Diego, CA which is home to SDRC Raceway. Over the weekend they ran Round 1 of their Supercross Series so let’s see how our drivers did at this event. Team driver Chris Raymond took 3rd place in the 40+ 13.5 2wd Buggy class while running sanded Silver compound Ellipses, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance Rear Wing!
Teammate Mike Sorchy competed in the Open 2wd Buggy class and secured 3rd place on the podium! He used Silver compound Ellipse that were sanded down to slicks and glued to Mono wheels.
Staying in Cali we now turn to Palm Desert where Rise Up HobbyTown is located. Team driver John Caudillo recently ran on their rug and finished 3rd overall in both the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy and SCT classes! Both cars used Swaggers up front and his wheeler used Twin Pins in the rear and his SCT used Pins Downs in the backend.
Finally, we head up to the northwest to get this update from JC driver Austin Cracknell. He recently raced at Tacoma R/C Raceway in Tacoma and would TQ and finish 2nd overall in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes!
