The JConcepts race team puts in another good week of race results as they continue to dominate out on the track. Check out our winning ways in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out in sunny California at SDRC Raceway in San Diego. They recently held Round 2 of their Supercross Series so let’s see how the team performed.
Starting with team driver Brenden Edwards, he reports that he took the TQ and win in the 13.5 Short Course Truck class! He used sanded down Silver compound Ellipses and a HF2 body. He also competed in the 13.5 Stadium Truck class and took 3rd overall while also running on sanded down Silver compound Ellipses.
JC driver Rick Riley reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 21.5 2wd Buggy class! He used our Octagon tires mounted to Mono wheels.
His son Austin also competed in the 17.5 Intermediate 2wd Buggy class and finished 7th overall in the main. He also competed in the 13.5 Sportsman 4wd Buggy class and finished on top of the podium! Both cars ran on sanded down Ellipses and Mono wheels.
Next, let’s head east to Utah and check in with team driver Brady Anderson. He was in Salt Lake City club racing at Eaton’s Intermountain RC Raceway getting his cars ready for the upcoming Desert Classic. He competed in in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and would finish 8th in 2wd and 11th in 4wd! He ran slicked out Silver compound Ellipses, F2 bodies and Aero S-Type rear wings.
Now let’s take a visit to the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) in Omaha, NE which was the recent site of the INS 11 Winter Indoor Nationals. The weather has been even colder since that event as old man winter has tried to creep his way onto the track!
But not even the cold could keep away team driver Will Brinton as he competed in the opening round of the 3 event series called “The Triple Scoop”. He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and set the overall TQ! In the main he made a few mistakes which allowed teammates Alex Vanderbeek and Drew Rubenking to get around him so he would finish 3rd for the day. He ran Gold compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear along with a Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wing, F2 lightweight body and Fin Titanium Turnbuckles.
Speaking of cold, let’s head north into Minnesota to get a few updates from the team who was in Foley competing at 510 Raceway for their Valentine’s Day race with saw nearly 100 entries. Starting with team driver Thor Ott he reports that he finished 1st in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! He used Gold compound Ellipses on his winning buggy.
Also racing that day was teammate Joe Zaier Jr. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Mini Truggy classes and would finish 3rd in buggy and 6th in truggy! He says he used ghosted Silver compound Ellipses on his buggy and Gold compound Ellipses on his truggy.
Let’s march over to Massachusetts and stop in Fitchburg where R/C Excitement is located. They recently held their “Stock Nationals” which used a Reedy Race format for both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. Our driver Michael Fredericks reports that he competed in both classes and after the points were calculated he finished 10th for the day while running on slicked out Silver compound Ellipses, Mono wheels, S2 bodies and a S-Type wing!
Connecting to Connecticut we now visit RC Madness located in the city of Enfield. Team driver Eric Bresnahan reports that he did some club racing there last Friday night in both the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes.
He would finish 9th in buggy and 3rd in truck while using a P2 and Finnisher body along with Nessi, Swagger and Pin Down tires!
Our next stop is York, PA at Scale Speed to get this update from JConcepts driver Tom Petrella. He recently club raced competing in both the Stock and Mod 2wd Buggy classes with the same ride and would finish 7th in Stock and 3rd in Mod! He said he used Twin Pins and Swaggers all day for both classes.
Let’s head further south to Helena, AL where Warehouse Hobby Raceway is located. Team driver Danny Smith reports that he recently competed there and took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using Green compound Reflex tires!
Flying down to Florida let’s get a few updates from the team competing at various tracks this past week. Our first report comes from team driver Brett Kingsbury who recently raced at Beachline Raceway in Cocoa. He reports that he took the double TQ and win in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes! Both buggies ran with F2 bodies, Twin Pins and Swaggers!
Heading south to Coral Springs let’s check on the team competing at Round 2 of MAYHEM III at the Coral Springs RC Track. Team driver Carlos España reports that he finished 2nd in 1/8 Electric Buggy and first in Mod 4wd Buggy! His e buggy ran on Green compound ReHab tires with a F2I wing and his wheeler used Green compound Sprinters on all four corners.
Also competing at this race was JC mate Nelson Garcia in the same two classes. He would finish right behind Carlos in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and took the TQ and had a DNF in the Mod 4wd class! His e buggy ran fast on Green compound Teazers while his wheeler set the fastest qualifying times on Green compound Sprinters.
