An extended weekend results in more opportunities for the JConcepts race team to claim victories out on the race track! Read all about of winning ways this past weekend in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in Florida as the team was competing at several events held in the state. Our first report comes courtesy of team driver Joe Bruce who was racing at Callahan Off Road RC Raceway in Callahan for their Spring Fling event. The race event format consisted of three races over three days with points awarded for an overall champion. Joe finished 5th in the Mod Sprint and Latemodel classes and took 2nd overall in the Bomber class! He used Sprinters in the Red, Green and Blue compounds along with a 1966 Chevy II Nova (V2) body on his bomber.
Also running at this event was teammate Doug Dragotta. He reports that he finished 3rd in both the Mod Sprint and Latemodel classes which also included a Latemodel win on the final day! He used the L8 Night 10″ Wide Late Model body and Sprinter tires all weekend.
Now we head to Beachline Raceway in Cocoa for a update from team driver Brent Kingsbury. He was competing at the finals for the 2021 Carpet Wars and he took the TQ and 2nd in Mod 2wd and 1st place in 13.5 4wd Buggy!
Joining him on the Mod 2wd podium in 1st was teammate Paul Wynn! Both drivers used the new Fuzz Bite tires on all four corners.
Our next report was submitted by JC driver Bobby Smith. He recently attended Triple Nickel Raceway in Bartow for their Memorial club race and he finished 2nd in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! He used the following JC swag on both bugs:
- R2 compound Kosmos tires
- S15 bodies
- F2I wings
- Bullet wheels
Now we head up the coast to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC.
They recently held their Mayhem In May race event and team driver Josh Parrish reports that he finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd overall in 1/8 Electric Truggy! His e buggy ran fast on Green compound Reflex tires mounted to Bullet wheels and topped off with a S15 body and F2I wing. His truggy used out Aqua compound Reflex tires mounted to Bullet wheels along with a Finnisher body.
Staying in state we dip in at Digger’s Dungeon in Poplar Branch to get our next update from team driver Sonny Santucci. He recently attended a RC monster truck event there and finished 1st in the Pro Solid Axle and SCT 4wd classes plus 3rd overall in the 2.2″ class! All trucks used Blue compound Renegades and Choppers tires.
We now turn west and head over to the Steve Raddatz Memorial Raceway in Tuscumbia, AL. They were host to Round 10 of the Snap Hard Race League and on Saturday the 1/10 classes were ran and on Sunday all 1/8 race events were held. Our driver Willie Scott reported that after some electronic gremlins he finished 8th in Mod 4wd Buggy and a DNF in Stadium Truck on Saturday. His wheeler used Sprinters in the front and Double Dees in the rear while his truck used Carvers up front and Goose Bumps in the rear along with a Finnisher body. On Sunday he had better luck as qualified 7th for the A Main in 1/8 Electric Truggy class and finished 2nd overall! That vehicle used Green compound Reflex tires on all four corners.
Also running at this race was JC mate Bryce Taets. He competed in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy class and finished 2nd while running on Blue compound Blockers! Joining him on the podium as the TQ was teammate Randy Enger!
JConcepts driver Robert Romano also entered this event in the Mod 4wd and 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy classes and finished 2nd in Mod wheeler and took the W in the E buggy class! He used Green compound Sprinters on his 4wd and Kosmos tires on his E buggy
Continuing west we jump the state line into Mississippi and stop in at Robinsonville where Inside Line Speedway is located. Team driver Randy Lathrop reports that he recently competed there and took the win in the Midwest Modified class while running Green compound Dirt Webs up front and Ellipses in the rear!
His better half Jen was also competing there and took the double win in the Latemodel and Open Sprint classes while running the same winning tire combination!
Now we kick it up into Hazard, KY where Dixon’s RC Raceway (DRCR) is located. They recently ran their Triple Crown Cash Series and our driver Miss Bella was in attendance and she finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 3rd in 1/8 Electric Truggy! Both cars used Gold compound Ellipses tires, Bullet wheels and Finnisher and S15 bodies.
Heading west to the “Show Me State” we get our next report from team driver Travis Slover. He recently competed at Round 2 of the Summer Slideways points series at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs and finished 8th in Street Stock and 3rd in SC Mod! During the day he used Gold compound Ellipse rear tires and Dirt Webs in the front. At night he switched over to Green compound Ellipses on all four corners plus he used 9-Shot wheels and a 1978 Chevy Camaro Street Stock body for the entire race.
Heading up north we get our next update from JConcepts driver Thor Ott. He was is Waite Park, MN where Thunder Road Raceway is located and recently attended their May Madness trophy race. He was able to take the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and aiding him in the victory was a P2 body plus Lockness and Swaggers tires!
Heading even further west let’s see how the team performed at Round 1 of the Northwest Championship Tour that took place at Hank Perry Raceway in Spokane Valley, WA. This event coincided the 34th Annual Hank Perry 240 and team driver Jacob Hudson reports that after a tie breaker he finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! And in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he bumped up from the B Main to start 13th overall in the A Main. After the dust had settled he would move all the way up to 5th place!
His teammate Shane Preugschat was also competing at this event and finished 4th in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class and locked up 3rd place in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class too! In both classes he started on Green compound Reflexes and then moved to R2 compound Detox and Reflexes once the track grooved up.
Teammate Tony Corless reports that he finished 2nd overall in both the 40+ 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes! Both cars used R2 compound ReHab tires along with S15 bodies and F2I wings.
Finally, team driver Tony Hinojosa reported that he made all three stops for the 2021 RC Pro West Series and finished 3rd overall in 1/8 Nitro Truggy and 2nd in 1/8 Electric Truggy!
