The JConcepts race team continues to bring the heat out on the race track! See where we were on fire at in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s race report in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. Round 2 of their Summer Series was just held over the weekend and it saw 176 entries overall! We had numerous drivers competing there so here are some quick updates from the team.
JC driver Rob Sturghill reported that he finished 12th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 6th in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! His bugs were decked out in an uber amount of JConcepts wares:

Teammate Ethan Delair told us that he took the TQ in Mod 2wd Buggy and also finished 5th in that class plus Mod 4wd Buggy! His fast cars used the following gear:
- Mod 2wd Buggy = F2 body, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, Gold compound Ellipse rears with Gold compound Dirt Webs up front
- Mod 4wd Buggy = F2 body, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, Silver compound Ellipses both front and rear
JConcepts driver and Plex race director Alex Sturgeon also got some laps in this past weekend and he reported that he took the win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class while running Ellipse rears, Dirt Webs up front and all on the Gold compound! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was JC mate Mack Vanderbeek!
JC mate Brandon Kearney was also racing there this past Saturday in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. He would finish 14th in Mod 2wd and 11th in Mod 4wd while running the follow JC goodies!

JConcepts pilot Bradley Peterson delineated that he also competed in these same two classes and finished 11th in Mod 2wd and 10th in Mod 4wd Buggy! He also ran the following gear:

- P2 body
- S2 body
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
His JConcepts teammate Nate Sutherland was also in attendance and competed in three classes: Mod 2wd, Mod 4wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy. He would finish 6th in Mod 2wd, 3rd in Mod 4wd and take the win in the 13.5 class! Both wheelers used Silver compound Ellipse tires on all four corners, while his 2wd used Gold compound Ellipse rear and Dirt Webs up front. Joining him on the Mod 4wd podium in 1st place was fellow TLR/JConcepts driver Tom Rinderknecht!
Speaking of Tom he would secure another win this past weekend in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium to complete the JC sweep were teammates Alex Vanderbeek (2nd) and Drew Rubenking (3rd)!
Now we head south to Muskogee, OK where Battleground RC Speedway is located. They recently hosted a round of the RC Pro Series and team driver Shane Wheeler reports that he competed in both the Open Sprint and Late Model classes. He finished 7th overall in the Sprint class and 2nd overall in Late Model! Both cars used Green compound Ellipses on all four corners mounted on Mono rims.
Also competing at this event was teammate Kevin Lenderman in the Midwest and SC Modified classes. He would finish 3rd on the podium in the Midwest Mod class while running on Green compound Dirt Webs up front and Ellipses in the rear, and all on Mono wheels. In the SC Mod class he would take the TQ and win while utilizing our Blue compound Dirt Webs and on Hazard wheels!
Moving over to the “Show Me State” of Missouri the team was competing at several events throughout the state last weekend and our first report comes from JCon driver Travis Slover. He visited Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs to compete at Round 2 of their Summer Off-Road Points Series and took the win in the 1/8 Sportsman Electric Buggy class! Helping him with the win was Blue compound Triple Dees, Bullet wheels and the RM2 Bridge 1/8th Wing Button.
Now we head to Kingsville where PBR Speedway is located. Our driver Jeremy Cathlina was competing at the 3rd Round of the Show Me State Series that was held there and reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 410 Sprint class! He used Gold compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear and also a sweet novelty check!
Let’s go trucking over into Illinois and stop in at the city of Waterloo. This past Sunday another round of the Trigger King R/C Monster Truck Series was held and our driver Josh Rhodes reported that his Bigfoot IV took another win which added to his points lead in the series! In the Sport Mod racing bracket his Wildfoot rig would take the win in Bracket 2! In the Losi LMT Spec class his US Air Force Afterburner replica would fly away with another win too! His monster trucks ran the following JCon goods:

Also competing at this event was team driver Chris Parrish. He would make the finals in both the Pro Mod and Retro classes plus make the semis in the Losi LMT Spec class! He also utilized the following gear on his trucks:

Making a diagonal up to the northeast we splash down in Michigan. Our driver Kyle Munson recently attended M40 RC Raceway in Gobles for the 2nd Round of their points series. He competed in four different classes with great results!
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = TQ & 1st place
- Mod Stadium Truck = 1st place
- 1/8 Electric Buggy = 1st place
- Vintage 2wd Buggy (Exhibition class)
He also earns our coveted “Ironman” award for this week and helping him with his three wins were the following products:

Rolling over to the “buckeye” state we get our next update from JC driver Logan Wendling. He was in Toledo competing at the Nitro vs Electric Shoot-Out at TarCar. He finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while running on Blue compound Reflexes glued to Bullet wheels!
Our next update comes from our friend in Pennsylvania, team driver Matt Morris. He recently competed at a trophy race held at FSARC Raceway in Altoona and he took the TQ and win in both the 17.5 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes while running on Ellipses tires!
Heading down the coast we land in Sumter, SC where Sumter RC Raceway can be found. They were host to Round 4 of the SOS (Southern Off-Road Series) and saw 165 entries for this event!
Our driver Cade Burnette competed in both the 1/8 Nitro Pro Buggy and Truggy classes. He would finish 2nd in the buggy 25 minute main and also take the TQ and win in the truggy class! Both vehicles used Green compound Reflex tires for the long mains. Joining him on the podium in the truggy class in 2nd place was teammate Logan Cowick!
Also competing at this event was teammate Jake Stikeleather and he would take the W in the 1/8 Nitro Pro Buggy class! He also used the Reflex tire in the Green compound along with Bullet wheels and a F2I wing.
Kicking it over into Kentucky we get our next race report from JC driver Izriah Osborne. He recently competed at Radioactive Raceway’s June Jam trophy race in Mayfield and doubled down on victories in both the 1/8 Expert Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! Both rigs used Blue compound Reflex tires and S15 shells.
Now we fly out west to Cali to get a few updates from the team competing at various RC races. Starting with team driver Levi Raymond he reports that he attended Round #1 of the JBRL Nitro Off-Road Series hosted by SoCal Nitro Raceway in Victorville and locked up the final podium spot in the 1/8 Sportsman Nitro Buggy class! He used Green compound Blockers and a F2I wing.
Also competing at this event was teammate Mike Sorchy. He competed in the 1/8 Intermediate Nitro Buggy class and would finish 23rd while running on Green and Blue compound Stalkers mounted to Bullet wheels, a S15 body and the RM2 Bridge 1/8th Wing Button.
But his racing wasn’t done for the weekend as he then traveled to Ricochet R/C Raceway in El Centro on Sunday for their Summer Sunday Series.
He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and finished 3rd overall! He ran a P2K shell, Swaggers and Nessi tires all on Mono wheels.
Fellow JConcepts driver John Caudillo wanted to “be like Mike” as he competed at both events too! At the JBRL event he would finish 39th in the 1/8 Open Electric Buggy and 17th in the Open Electric Truggy class. He used Blue compound Reflex and Stalkers tires on both cars. Then on Sunday he switched gears to compete at Ricochet in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would end up 4th in 2wd and took the TQ and win in wheeler! He used Swaggers and Twin Pins on both cars.
Heading up the coast into Washington our next report comes from JC driver Austin Cracknell. He recently competed at Skagit River Raceway for Round 1 of the Interstate Off-Road Series in Alger in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. In the nitro class he would finish a solid 5th place and in E buggy he would also finish in 5th! Both vehicles used Green compound Reflex tires for the mains.
Our final report comes from the overseas team competing at the 1st round of the French Championship on the RACG track in Grenoble. Team driver Clément Boda would TQ both Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy and go on to finish 2nd in 2wd and take the win in 4wd! His teammate Sebastien Mure competed in the Stadium Truck class and locked up 6th place in the finals! Their next big race is the French Nitro Nationals on June 27th.
