The third weekend of racing in the books for July and the JConcepts race team stays red hot on the track which you can read about in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out west in sunny California. The JConcepts race team was putting in work at several events in the state starting with Round 3 of the JBRL Electric Off-Road Series hosted by SDRC Raceway in San Diego. Team driver Joseph Levin reported that he competed in both the 13.5 Stadium Truck and 4wd Buggy classes. At the end of the day he would finish 3rd in wheeler and took the W in truck! His buggy used Silver compound Ellipses sanded down to slicks plus a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing. His truck used the same tire setup along with a standard weight F2 body.
JC driver Austin Riley reports that he finished 3rd in Sportsman 13.5 4wd Buggy and 2nd in Sportsman 17.5 2wd Buggy! Both cars used the same lethal tire combination as Joseph too.
His father Rick was also competing at this race and finished 3rd overall in the 17.5 Stadium Truck class! Once again sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires were on point!
Staying in state we now travel up north to AMain Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico. They were the host to Round 3 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series and our driver Jeremy Bunting was in attendance and provided the following update.
He reports that he took the win in the Retro class with “Shotgun” monster truck! This winning rig used the following JC goodies:
- Regulator chassis conversion kit
- Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS)
- 1989 Ford F-250 Monster Truck Body
- Silent Speed 27T Brushed Fixed End Bell Competition Motor
- Tribute 2.6 x 3.6″ Monster Truck Wheels
- Golden Years tires
In the freestyle competition for the 2.6 Monster Truck class he finished tied for 2nd overall with his “Bad Company” truck! This vehicle was equipped with the following options:
- 2014 Chevy 1500 MT Single Cab Body
- Tribute 2.6 x 3.6″ Monster Truck Wheels
- Renegades Monster Truck Tire
While competing in the 2.6 Monster Truck class with his “Sinistar” truck he didn’t take any wins that day but remains 2nd overall in the season points! His truck remains fast with the following products:
- 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty MT Body
- Tribute 2.6 x 3.6″ Monster Truck Wheels
- Renegades Monster Truck Tire
In the 2.2 class he made it to the semi finals with his “Hooligan” truck and still remains the points leader for this series! Aiding him that day was the following JConcepts gear:

- Midwest 2.2″ MT Wheels
- Renegades Jr 2.2 tires
Now we shoot over to Texas for some roundy-round action at Wild Bill’s Raceway in Irving. They just held their 2021 WFO for Wilcox memorial race and many team drivers were competing there. Starting with JC driver Robert Chapman, he reports that competed in both the Midwest Modified and Outlaw Sprint classes. He bumped up from the B Main in Midwest Modified to start 9th overall and after the dust had settled he charged all the way up to 2nd place! He would also grab another 2nd place finish in the Outlaw Sprint class! Both cars were equipped with black 9 Shot wheels, Blue compound Dirt Web up front with Ellipses in the rear using the same compound.
Also running at this event was teammate Kevin Lenderman. He reports that he competed in the 10.5 Sprint class and finished 6th overall in the B Main while running on Blue compound Ellipses on all four corners and mounted to white Mono wheels! He also competed in the Midwest Modified class and finish 6th overall in the A Main! That vehicle used Green compound Ellipses all the way around and also mounted to white Mono wheels. And in the Street Stock class he would get the TQ and win while using the same tire setup as his Midwest Modified ride!
Also running at this event was JConcepts driver Nathan Dean. He competed in three classes and took the TQ and win in all of them!
- Midwest Modified = TQ and 1st
- Outlaw Sprint = TQ and 1st
- Late Model = TQ and 1st
He said he started on Green compound Ellipse rear tires with Dirt Webs up front. As the rubber went down he used the same tire combo but switched over to our Silver compound.
Our next stop is in Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend they held Round 2 of their Summer Truck Series which is an event that only features truck classes to compete in. Team driver Will Brinton reports that he competed in the Gas Truck (Nitro Stadium Truck) class with his Team Associated T6.2 with an Ignite RC conversion kit. He was able to TQ this class and lead the entire 15 minute main to take home the win! He used Gold compound Ellipses in both the front and rear and modified his F2 body to fit his gas truck.
Team driver and Plex Race Director Alex Sturgeon reports he competed in the Mini Truggy class and took the TQ and win! His winning truggy used Gold compound Ellipses tires all the way around.
Sliding over to Missouri we find ourselves at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for Round 4 of their Summer Slideways Oval Points Series. Team driver Travis Slover was competing there and reported that he finished 5th in Open Late Model and 3rd in the SC Mod class! His SC Mod used Aqua compound Ellipses on all four corners while his Late Model used Gold compound Ellipses in the rear, Dirt Webs up front, 9 Shot wheels and a L8 Night 10″ Wide Late Model body.
Heading north into Iowa we stop in at the city of Fort Dodge where IORC is located. This past weekend they held the 2nd round of their Summer Series and JC driver Brandon Kearney reported that he competed in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy along with Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy. He would TQ and win in both the Mod 4wd and Expert 17.5 classes and finished 2nd overall in the Mod 2wd class! Joining him on the podium in the Mod 2wd class were JC mates Tom Rinderknecht (1st) and Mason Fuller (3rd) to complete the JC sweep! Brandon also reported he ran the following JC widgets on his rides:
- Fuzz Bite tires
- Mono wheels
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- B6.2 Front Wing
- Lightweight F2 bodies
Now let’s put the pedal to the metal and head up I-35 to Full Throttle Raceway in Foley, MN. This past weekend they were host to Round 3 of the MNRC Series and that is where we find team driver Joe Scaramell. He reports that he competed in the 40+ Nitro Truggy class and would take the TQ and win while running on Aqua compound Reflex tires!
Heading east we stop in at New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located. Our driver Ryan Derenne recently competed there for the 5th round of their Summer Series on their outdoor track in the Stadium Truck class. After the dust had settled he would finish 5th for the round while running a Finnisher body, Blue compound Carvers up front and Green compound Double Dees in the rear!
Heading south we cross over into the land of Lincoln for this next race report from JC driver Brayden Billington. He recently went to RiverCity Raceway in Peoria for a recent cash race they held. He competed in three class and would finish 4th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and 1st in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes! Aiding him in his results were our Aqua compound Reflex tires.
Our next update if from Wilksboro, NC where WCRC is located. They were the host to Round 3 of the 2021 (Two States One Championship) TSOC Series and let’s get an update from the team starting with team driver Jason Westfall.
He reports that he competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would set the TQ and finish 2nd overall! His bug ran fast on Green compound Flip Outs and Rips tires.
Also competing at this race was teammate Dave McEwen. He competed in both the 1/8 Open and 40+ Electric Buggy classes and would finished 2nd in open and take the TQ and win in the 40+ class! His buggies used Green compound Triple Dees, Bullet wheels, S15 bodies and F2I wings.
Now let’s get an update from our Canadian team who recently competed at Round 2 of the Quebec RC Series hosted by Bego Racing RC Raceway. Team driver Olivier Raposo reports that he finished 2nd overall in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and 1st overall in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class! Both vehicles used Ellipses in the Aqua compound sanded down to slicks plus a Finnisher body for his truck and a S15 body for his buggy.
Also racing at this event was JC teammate Jordan Miles. He reports that he finished 4th overall in 1/8 Electric Buggy while over in the Mod 4wd Buggy class he took the TQ and win! His cars used a mix of Blue compound Detox and Sprinters tires.
Finally, team driver Steve Seguin also gives us an update from this race event. He said he competed in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and he would finish 7th in e buggy while over in e truggy he would set the TQ and take 1st for the day! He said both whips used Blue compound Ellipse tires all weekend long.
