In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Sweden team driver, Fredrick Cederberg!
1. How did you first hear about racing RC cars? And what classes did you compete in?
I knew about RC cars all my life. My dad had a RC shop back in the 80’s, but I was racing RC boats and played around with a SG Tiger 1:8 buggy.
2. In your opinion, what classes have you noticed that seem to be in a decline? And how would you try to resolve this so there is more participation?
In Sweden it is 1:8 nitro that has declined. I am arranging one race every year where no license is needed so newcomers can test racing easily and I am involved in my club.
3. If you have been racing for a while now you have probably glued up 100s of tires. So what gluing tips do you have for beginning racers?
Best gluing tip I have is, do not rush it, let it take it’s time.
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
I must say the bodies, they perform and they look great and setting a standard for the business. All brands are copying them.
5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?
I have been racing cars since 2005, but I have raced boats since 1981 and have 4 World Championships.
