In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Washington team driver, Andrew Beauchamp!
1. How did you first hear about racing RC cars? And what classes did you compete in?
My grandfather and dad raced RC cars before I was born, and I’ve been around RC cars my whole life. The classes I race now are 2wd and 4wd modified buggy, 1:8 nitro and electric buggy.
2. What is your favorite class to race in today and why?
My favorite class is nitro buggy because it’s fun to race in long main events.
3. From your experience what is the easiest AND hardest maintenance task on your RC cars?
The hardest thing for maintenance would be doing a complete teardown of my 1/8 scale cars after every race. It takes me 4-5 hours to fully clean and check out each car. The easiest part of maintenance is changing shock oils on my 2wd and 4wd buggy.
4. In your opinion, when heading to the track what is the JConcepts product that is a must have on race day and why?
My raceday must-have is JConcepts tires. They have a wide selection of tread patterns and compounds that provide the best grip on all track surfaces.
5. Besides RC cars, what other hobbies are you into?
Outside of racing, I like to play basketball with my friends, read, and playing on my Xbox. I also like working on full-size cars with my dad.
