The last racing weekend in September is successful one for the JConcepts race team as they continue their mark on top of the podium! Read all about it in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report in Myrtle Beach, SC where Beach RC & Hobbies is located. This past weekend they held their 2021 Beach Buggy Blast race and let’ see how the team finished up starting with team driver Josh Parrish.
He competed in two different classes and came way with hardware in both of them!
- 13.5 4wd Buggy = 2nd place while using Gold compound Ellipse tires, Mono wheels and a S2 body
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = 3rd place while using Silver compound Ellipse tires grinded to slicks, Mono wheels and a F2 body
Also competing at this race was teammate David Olsen. He competed in three different classes and finished 5th in Mod 2wd Buggy, 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in 1/8 Electric Buggy! His Mod 2wd used Silver compound Ellipses and a F2 body. His Mod wheeler used the same setup while his e buggy used the same tires plus a F2I wing.
Heading north into Asheboro, NC we stop in at Zoo City Raceway Park. They were host to the recent round of the 11th annual NC Challenge Series and team driver Logan Cowick was in attendance. He let us know that he finished 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and took the TQ and win in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! His buggy ran fast on Silver compound ReHab tires with a S2 body, while his winning truggy used Green compound Reflex tires and a F2 body.
Now we ship out to Shippensburg, PA where GSRC is located. Team driver Matt Adams recently competed there on Saturday for the 1/10 portion of the Clown Shoe Showdown Charity Race. On Sunday they ran the 1/8 classes and when the racing was done they were able to raise $4,851.51 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of central Pennsylvania! Matt competed in three different classes and finished 6th in Mod Stadium Truck, 4th in Mod 2wd SCT and 3rd overall in Mod 2wd Buggy! His vehicles used the following JConcepts goods:
- F2 body
- Hi-Flow SCT body
- Mono wheels
- Hazard wheels
- Green compound Sprinters
Now we head down to Lavalette, WV where Tri-Cities RC Racing is located. Our driver Bella Rogers was there competing Triple Crown Cash Series finals. She competed in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and after the points were calculated for the series she took home 1st place in both plus $180 in cash prizes! For the finals she ran Green compound Triple Dees and a Finnsher body on her truggy while her buggy ran on Green compound Teazers with a S15 shell.
Heading west into the ‘Land of Lincoln’ we get this next update from team driver Ryan Mcclain. He recently competed at Next Level RC in Cambria at their Fall Classic event and finished 3rd in 1/8 Electric Truggy and 1st in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class! His truggy used Aqua compound Reflex treads for the main while his buggy used the same tries in the Blue compound.
Turning north we now head to New Franken, WI where Dirt Heaven Hobby and Raceway is located. Team driver Ryan Derenne recently visited there for a recent series race and competed in three different classes on a fresh layout on their indoor track. He would go on to finish on the podium in all three classes which included two TQs and wins!
- 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy = TQ and 1st while running on Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slick plus a P2 body
- Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st while running on Green compound Octagons plus a Finnisher body
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 2nd place while running on Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slick plus a S2 body
Staying in the state we next get an update from team driver Kyle Holmberg. Two weekends ago he competed at the 5th and final round of the MNRC Off-Road Racing Series hosted by Rick’s Hobby Farm in New Richmond. After the season points were calculated he would come away with the overall title in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! For the finals he ran A2 compound Detox tires on both cars as he took the TQ and win at the finals too to complete a perfect score of 404 points in both classes!
Moving to the ‘Land of 10,000 lakes” we get our next report from team driver Thor Ott. This past weekend was the series finale at Thunder Road Raceway in Waite Park for their outdoor program and he took the TQ and win in the Pro 17.5 2wd Buggy class! He would also claim the series title too and he used Lockness tires on the rear with Swaggers up front.
Our final stop is the “Show Me” state for the 2021 Bigfoot Open House event in the city of Pacific. Not only were the full size rigs crushing it, but so was the JConcepts team in the RC portion of this event!
Starting with team driver Chris Parrish he reports that he finished 2nd overall in the Pro Mod class with his ‘Indominus’ replica truck! He used the following JC goodies on this ride:
- Blue compound Renegades tires
- Tribute wheels
- Lowered Body Mount kit
Also crushing it at this event was JC mate Josh Rhodes. In the Retro class he took the W with his ‘Bigfoot IV’ truck! In the Sport Mod class his ‘Wildfoot’ truck made the semi-finals before getting eliminated. In the Losi LMT Mod class he took another win with his ‘US Air Force Afterburner’ ride!

Also competing was team driver Jeremy Mark in the Sport Modified class with his ‘Taurus 3’ replica. He would make the semi-finals before getting eliminated while using the following gear:

- Tribute Wheel Mock Beadlock Rings
- Silent Speed 17T Adjustable Timing Competition Motor
