The wins keep falling for the JConcepts race team like leaves in your backyard! Read where we raked up wins in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s race report out in sunny California. The JConcepts team was competing at a few events in the state so let’s get our first update from team driver Jeremy Bunting.
He attended the final round of the Nor Cal RC Monster Truck Points Series that was held at the Rescue Community Center R/C Track in the town of Rescue.
In the 2.2 class he won the racing bracket and the overall event for the race, plus took home first place in the series with his “Hooligan” replica truck! His rig was decked out with a 2014 Chevy 1500 MT Single Cab Body, Midwest 2.2″ MT Wheels and Renegades Jr 2.2 tires.
And in the MT class he also won in the racing and overall event with his “Bad Company” truck running on Blue compound Renegade tires mounted to Tribute wheels plus a 2014 Chevy 1500 MT Single Cab Body! And his “Sinistar” truck finished first the series in the MT Class too! It also used Tribute wheels, plus Blue compound Renegade tires, Tribute Wheel Mock Beadlock Rings and a 2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Monster Truck body.
Now we travel to Saugus where Hot Rod Hobbies & Raceways is located. This past weekend was the 6th and final round of the JBRL Electric Off-Road Series which was held there so let’s see how the team performed.
JC driver Mike Sorchy reports that he locked up the final podium spot in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running a P2 body with Green compound Double Dees V2 tires!
Teammate Jeff Guest let us know that he took the TQ and win in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver Chris Raymond!
Now we roll out east into ‘Sin City’ where 702 Raceway is located. Our driver John Caudillo recently visited this carpet track for their King Of Carpet event. He competed in two classes and finished 4th in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class and 3rd overall in the 13.5 2wd SCT class! His buggy was running fast on Fuzz Bites in the front and Pin Swags in the rear, while his SCT used Pin Downs on all four corners. His SCT also used a lightweight HF2 body and Hazard wheels.
Traveling further east we stop in at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the 1st Round of their Carpet Series and team driver Ethan Delair was in attendance. He competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would win in both, plus snag a TQ in 2wd! His bugs were hugging the rug while running with the following gear:
- F2 body
- Twin Pins in the rear
- Swaggers in the front
- B6.3 Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
Bumping up to the ‘Badger State’ we get our next report from team driver Jarret Smith. He recently went to Trackside Hobbies & Raceway in the city for Brookfield to compete in the 1st Round of the Saturday Night Fever point series. He would finish 3rd in the Mod 2wd Buggy class after bumping up from the B Main and also set the TQ and finish 3rd in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class! He said sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires were hotter than John Travolta out on the dance floor!
Next, we shoot down to Bullet Town R/C in Milan, TN for our next stop. JC driver Izriah Osborne recently attended their Tennessee State Shootout 7.0 event and took home two wins plus a TQ in the 1/8 Expert Electric and Nitro Buggy classes! His top qualifying e buggy used Green compound Reflex tires while his nitro rig used Blue compound Detox tires.
Our next report comes to use courtesy of team driver Jason Westfall. He recently competed at Chehaw RC Raceway in Philema, GA for Round 2 of the GORCS (Georgia Off-Road Championship Series). He would capture 2nd place in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running fast on Blue compound Reflex tires in the rear, Rips in the front and topped off with a F2 body!
Heading up the coast to S&B R/C Speedway in Piedmont, SC we get our next report from team driver Shay Brand. He recently raced there for their trophy race on a fresh layout and would go on to finish 3rd in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy class and also took the TQ and 1st in the 1/8 Pro Nitro Truggy class! His buggy used A2 compound Detox tires while his trug slugged it out with R2 compound Reflexes.
Heading further north we now stop in at Oakland Mills, PA where LCRC is located. This past weekend they held their 13th Annual Halloween Race so let’s see how the team finished starting with JC driver Cody Saner. He competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and finished 5th overall while running on Green compound Reflexes plus a F2 body and F2I wing! And in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class he locked up 2nd place on the podium with the same equipment package! Joining him on the Nitro Truggy podium was teammate Bryan Kata in 1st place!
Teammate Matt Adams was also running at this event in three separate classes and finished with solid results!
- Mod 2wd SCT = 2nd place while using Green compound Sprinters, Hazard wheels, a Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Kit and a Hi-Flow SCT body
- 1/8 Electric Truggy = 12th place while using a Finnisher body, Bullet wheels, Green compound Reflexes and a F2I wing
- 1/8 Electric Buggy = 20th place while using a S15 body, Bullet wheels and Green compound Reflexes
Now let’s get a few updates from out international team starting with team driver Clément Boda. This past weekend was the final round of the French 1/8 Nitro Championship. For the finals he started 5th on the grid but after some mechanical gremlins arrived he would drop back to 12th place. But he still had a great time competing and was running fast up to that point on Blockers in the O2 compound, a S15 body plus 17mm Finnisher Serrated / Magnetic Wheel Nuts!
Our final report comes to use from team driver Cedric Devillers. This past weekend he competed at Reims EMC in Reims France which hosted the Rusti Design Vintage Challenge. He was competing with a vintage Tenth Technology Predator X10 4wd Buggy and used our Blue compound Sprinters!
