This past weekend was Round 4 of the Fall session of the Super Cup Championship Series. This round was also the last round in the series so this meant drivers competing for class titles were trying to finish high on the podium in order to secure a win that day, and hopefully for the entire series.
All the action took place at the Coral Springs track located in Coral Springs, FL. On Friday the event kicked off with practice at 10am that ran throughout the day till 5pm that night. On Saturday the track was open again for additional practice from 7-8am before qualifying began at 8:30am.
The track’s fresh and enormous layout required both speed and skill as drivers had to fly down a full length straight, and maneuver their cars cleanly through technical sections like a double leading into a triple in front of the driver’s stand.
To be fast on the outdoor track surface you needed to have the right amount of grip, and the JConcepts team came prepared as Double Dees V2 and Sprinter tires were the weapons of choice.
There were 9 different classes to compete in at the finals and the final entry count was over 100 for the day.
The race program called for two rounds of qualifying in order to see who started 1st on the grid for the single A Mains. A driver’s best qualifier was used to determine their starting order, and if you missed out on the cut for the A Main you could still bump your way back into it since the top two finishers in each lower main transferred to the next highest main.
Each main ran for five minutes and we had a lot of drivers in attendance so let’s see how the team performed.

That brings an end to the Fall session of the Super Cup Championship Series, along with an end to this long running series in Florida that began back in 2008. For 2022, this series will be going on a hiatus due to in-house scheduling conflicts and traveling attendance concerns. We would like to thank the dedicated racers who have turned out for the series since its inception, and our many sponsors over the years!
The banquet and awards presentation for 2021 will be held during the weekend of January 8-9, 2022, in Bartow, Florida at Triple Nickel Raceway. Please plan to attend and follow the latest information on social media from race director Dave Duncan as new details Emerge.
