The JConcepts race team continues to devour the competition like Santa and a plate of cookies on Christmas Eve night which you can read about in this jolly edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down at Beach RC & Hobbies in Myrtle Beach, SC. They recently held their Jingle Bell Jam event which is not only a race, but also a toy and coat drive for children in need. For the event the track was able to raise over $2,000 and collected over 500 toys! For the race program our driver Dave McEwen competed in three classes and would take the TQ and win in all of them! His winning rides were decked out in the following gear:

Jumping the state line into North Carolina our next stop is at Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama. Team driver Jake Stikeleather recently went there to compete at their 14th Annual Christmas Giveaway Race race. He ran in the Pro Nitro Buggy class and would take the win in the A main while running fast on Silver compound Ellipses, Bullet wheels, a S15 shell and a F2I wing!
Heading further north we go through the doors to the The Factory RC Raceway in York, PA for our next update. JC driver Tom Petrella reports that he attended their Christmas Cookies Classic race over the weekend and competed in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes. He would have some bad luck in the 17.5 class and finish 15th for the day, but he made the A Main in the Mod 2wd class and finished a solid 6th place overall! His car used Twin Pins and Swaggers to start with before he switched to Fuzz Bites for the mains.
Now, let’s head back west to RC ONE Racing located in Macomb Township, MI. They recently held Round 1 of their East vs. West series and team driver Logan Wendling finished 2nd overall in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class on slicked out Silver compound Ellipses and a F2 body!
His father and team driver Roger Wendling took the W in the 40+ Open 4wd Buggy class using the same winning tire setup!
Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down into Wisconsin for a few updates from the team competing at different tracks. Starting with team driver Richie Peters he was able to win back the “Traveling Trophy Belt” at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken when he took the double win in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes! Helping him pin the competition was Silver compound Dirt Webs and Ellipse tires sanded to slicks along with Mono wheels and a Finnisher body.
Team driver Joe Scaramell raced this past weekend over in New Richmond where The Toy Box Raceway is located. For their points series he competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes, and he would finish 5th for the day in 13.5 4wd and lock up 2nd place in 17.5 2wd while running smooth on Silver compound Ellipses!
Shifting gears we now head to IORC in Fort Dodge, IA for a few updates from the team competing at the 2nd round of their Winter Series. Team driver Brandon Kearney reported that he would finish 3rd for the day in Mod 2wd Buggy and 2nd place in Mod 4wd Buggy! His bugs used the following JC gear:

- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
Also competing at this event in Mod 2wd Buggy were teammates Drew Rubenking (2nd) and Mason Fuller (1st) which meant a podium sweep for the JConcepts team!
Now we head to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past Saturday was Round 8 of the Carpet Series and once again team driver Ethan Delair cut a rug as he took another TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy!
His winning car used the following goods:

Heading southeast into the “Show Me State” we find ourselves back at Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs for the 3rd round of their Indoor Points Series. Team driver Orlando Martinez reported that he double down in the win column with victories in 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy! His rides ran great on Silver compound Ellipses tires, F2 bodies and Mono wheels.
Next, let’s head south and get our next few updates from the team competing at FORC Raceway in Jonesboro, AR at their 4th Annual Winter Kickoff event. Starting with team driver Drew Spurgeon he reported that he competed in four classes (17.5 2wd Buggy, Mod 2wd Buggy, Mod 2wd SCT and Mod Stadium Truck) and would take the win in all of them! He used the following gear and also earns our coveted ‘ironman’ award this week:
- Silver compound Ellipses
- Gold compound Ellipses
- F2 bodies
- HF2 SCT body
Also running at this event were teammates Calvin and Braden Bruce. Starting with Braden he competed in three classes with solid results!
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 1st
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = 7th
- Mod 2wd Buggy = 9th
And his dad Calvin competed in two classes and made the podium with Braden in the Mod 4wd Buggy class!
- Mod 2wd Buggy = 4th
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 3rd
All of their vehicles were running fast on ghosted Silver compound Ellipses and Dirt Webs.
Shooting down to Indy RC World in Garland, TX our next update is from team driver Joel Rodriguez. He recently competed at Round 1 of their Winter Chill Series and finished 2nd for the day in the Electric Buggy class while running on Blue compound Reflex tires!
Our final report for the year comes to us courtesy of international team driver Joona Haatanen. He recently competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes at the second round of the Polish Remote Control Championship held at the Race Stars Contest in Poland and finished 2nd in both of them!
