A new month has begun and the JConcepts race team continues their march to the top of the podium! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in the state of Texas. There were several RC events happening over the weekend so let’s see how the team ended up starting with the racing action in the city of Hutto where Thornhill Racing is located.
They were the host to Round 1 of the 2022 RC Pro South Series and JConcepts driver Dillon Caldwell competed in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He would finish 6th in e buggy and 4th place in nitro buggy! Joining him on the nitro buggy podium was teammate Hunter La Flower in 3rd!
Speaking of Hunter, he also competed in the e buggy class too and would finish 4th for the day! Both of his cars ran A2 compound Ellipse tires along with S15 bodies!
JC driver Billy DiCorte Jr. also competed at this event and would finish 3rd in 1/8 Electric Truck and take the TQ and W in 1/8 Electric Buggy! Both vehicles ran Blue compound Reflex tires mounted to Bullet rims along with a F2 body on his truck and a S15 body on his buggy.
Teammate Edwin Ortiz competed in 3 different classes and would make the top 4 in all of them!
- Electric Buggy = 2nd while running Blue compound Detox tires
- 40+ Electric Buggy = 4th while running Blue compound Detox tires
- Short Course Truck = 2nd while running Green compound Double Dees tires
Now we dig our way over to Money Pit Raceway in Merkel. This past weekend they held their 2022 SC Mod Shootout event and team driver Kevin Lenderman was in attendance. He competed in both the Midwest and SC Mod classes and would take home the double TQ and win in both! In Midwest Mod he ran Green compound Ellipses on all four corners and glued them to Mono wheels. In SC Mod he ran Green compound Sprinters glues to Hazard wheels, plus he took home $300 in cash too for the win in this class!
Fellow JC pilot Robert Chapman also attended this race and ran in the Outlaw Sprint and Midwest Mod classes. He would finish 4th for the day in Midwest Mod and took the W in Outlaw Sprint! Both cars used Green compound Dirt Webs up front and Ellipses in the rear.
Our final RC tour stop in Texas is in Garland where Indy RC World is located. There we we find team driver Kevin Mcnatt and he reports that he took the TQ and win in the SC Mod class at Round 5 of their Winter Oval Series while rolling on Silver compound Ellipses!
Now let’s head east to Saratoga-Flowood RC Raceway in Magee, MS. There we find team driver Cameron Breaux who recently visited there to compete at their Throttle Therapy trophy race. He would finish 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and take the TQ and win in 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy and Truggy! All of his rides used Blue compound Reflex tires.
Moving further east now let’s check in with team driver Cade Burnette who recently attended Round 1 of the 2022 SOS Series at Phil Hurd Raceway in Savannah, GA. He competed in three classes and took the win in two of them!
- Pro Nitro Buggy = TQ and 1st while running on Silver compound ReHabs, a S15 shell and a F2I wing
- Nitro Truggy = 2nd while running on Aqua compound Reflex tires, a F2 truck body and a F2I wing
- Electric Buggy = 1st while running on Silver compound ReHabs, a S15 shell and a F2I wing
Now we head up the coast to Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC for our next report. This past weekend they put on their Race For The Crazies trophy event which saw over 130 entries so let’s see how the team finished up.
Starting with team driver Ken Rand Jr. he let us know that he set the TQ and finished 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and set another TQ and took the win in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! His truggy used Green compound Reflex tires while his bug used Green compound Ellipses, a F2I wing and a S15 body.
Taking the win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class was teammate Jake Stikeleather! He reports that he opted to use Green compound ReHabs along with Bullet wheels, a S15 body and a F2I wing.
And completing the podium sweep for the JConcepts team in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class was team driver Rusty Mihelich! He said he used Green compound Ellipses in this class and he also finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy while running on the same tire setup!
Young team driver Maddy Long was also competing at this race and she finished 6th in 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy plus a 3rd place finish in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! All of her cars were rolling on Green compound Ellipses.
Also running fast at this event was team driver Josh Parrish. In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would lock up 3rd place while using Green compound Detox tires, a S15 body and a F2I wing! In the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he would bump into the A main and then make his way up to 2nd place when the race had completed! His truggy used Blue compound Ellipses, a F2 truck body and F2I wing.
JConcepts driver Luis Diego also competed in these same two classes and would take the win in both of them! In 1/8 Electric Truggy he used Green compound Reflex tires and a F2 truck body, while in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class he opted to run Green compound Detox tires and a Finnisher body!
Now let’s fly up to Michigan to get some updates from the race team competing at various track in the state. Starting with Kyle Munson he competed at Grand River RC in Grandville for Race #5 of the East vs West Series which saw 150 entries! In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would finish 7th for the day while running a F2 body and Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks! In the Stadium Truck class he brought out his restored vintage Losi XX-T and was able to lock up 2nd for the day while running Aqua compound Ellipses ground down to slicks! In the SCT class he would take the TQ and win while running Silver compound Ellipses sanded to slicks and mounted to Hazard wheels!
Also competing at this race was teammate Chris Rothwell. In 13.5 4wd Buggy he would finish 10th overall and in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would secure 3rd place! Both vehicles ran on Silver compound ellipses on all four corners.
Staying in state let’s now visit the Sandpit RC in Jonesville to get out next update from team driver Logan Wendling. He was there recently competing at their Winter Nitro Series and finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the wins in both 1/8 Nitro Truggy and Buggy! His truggy and e buggy used Green compound Reflexes while his nitro buggy used Green compound Stalkers.
Now we jump over to Waite Park, MN and splash down at Thunder Road Raceway. This past weekend they ran a point series race and JC driver Joe Zaier Jr. took the win in the Mini Truggy class while running Swaggers and Pin Downs tires plus a Finnisher body!
Teammates Christopher Malooly and Kyle Holmberg both competed in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and Christopher finished 3rd while Kyle took the TQ and win! Both drivers used Fuzz Bites on their vehicles.
Heading down into Fort Dodge, IA we get our next update from team driver Brandon Kearney. He competed at the final round of the IORC Winter Series and after the points were calculated he would finish 2nd overall in Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy! Teammate Drew Rubenking would take the overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and for the series Brandon used the following gear:

Heading southwest we next visit Ultraline Hobbies RC Raceway in Topeka, KS. This past weekend was Round 8 of their Super Cup Saturday Off-Road Winter Points Series and team driver Riley Filbert reports that he took the TQ and win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class while running on Swagger and Fuzz Bites mounted to Mono wheels, plus a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing!
Our final report comes to us this week from team driver Austin Cracknell. He recently competed at Tacoma RC Raceway in Tacoma, WA for the Northwest Indoor Series in three different classes and put in solid results in all of them!

- Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and 2nd place
