Two weeks into March and the JConcepts race team shows no signs of slowing down at they continue to win on tracks around the world! See where we were winning at this past week in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report at Beach RC & Hobbies in Myrtle Beach, SC. This past weekend they held their 8th Annual Palmetto Classic which saw over 180 entries! We had a bunch of drivers throwing down laps at this race so let’s get some updates from the team starting with JC driver Enzo Albertoni.
He competed in three classes and was able to bring home hardware in all of them!
- Mod Stadium Truck = 2nd place while using sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires and a Finnisher body
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 2nd place while using sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing
- Mod 2wd Buggy = TQ and 2nd place while using sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires, a F2 body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
Teammate Zach Griggs also competed at this race in three classes too. In Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy he would finish 13th overall, 7th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and in the Open 2wd Buggy class he secured the final spot on the podium! He ran both sanded down Silver compound Ellipses and Smoothie 2 tires along with Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings.
JConcepts driver Josh Parrish was also in attendance for this race and completed in 3 classes and took home hardware in all of them!
- 13.5 4wd Buggy = 3rd place while using a S2 shell, Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy = 6th place while using a P2 body, Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
- Mod Stadium Truck = 3rd place while using a Finnisher body and Gold compound Octagons
Team driver Dave McEwen competed in an impressive five classes at this event and put in a top five finish in all of them plus a TQ!
- 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and 2nd place
- 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy = 2nd place
- 2wd SCT = 2nd place
- Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy = 5th place
- 13.5 4wd Buggy = 4th place

His teammate Jake Stikeleather competed in both the Mod 4wd and 2wd Buggy classes and would finish 4th in both of them while running fast on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires!
JC driver Cade Burnette competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. In Mod 2wd he would finish 3rd while running on Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, a P2K body and an Aero S-Type Rear Wing! In Mod wheeler he would take over the lead on lap 4 in the A Main and go on to take the victory while using Gold compound Ellipses, a F2 shell and an Aero S-Type Rear Wing!
Team driver Monty Reeder reported that he finished 4th overall in the 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy class on Silver compound Ellipses tires!
His JC mate Kevin Bullock took the double win in the 40+ Mod and Open 2wd Buggy classes while using Silver compound Ellipses tires too!

Now we head south to the Coral Springs RC Track in Coral Springs, FL for our next update. Team driver Reuben Diaz competed there last weekend for the 3rd race in their Mayhem IV series. He competed in both the 17.5 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes and would come away with the double TQ and win! In 2wd he used Sprinters in the Green compound mounted to Mono rims. In 4wd he used the same tire and wheel combo but this time in the Blue compound.
Next, let’s shoot over to Texas for a few race updates from the team in that state. Our first report comes to us courtesy of team driver Brian Henn who recently visited Houston RC in the city of Houston to compete at Round 2 of their Carpet Series.
He would compete in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and set the TQ in all rounds of qualifying! After a rough main he would end up 4th overall, but his bug was running fast on the rug thanks to Fuzz Bites, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, a B6.3 Front Wing and B6.3 Fin Titanium Front Axles!
Our next stop is at the Ridgmar Mall in Fort Worth where the 2022 ROAR Electric On-Road Carpet Nationals were held last week. Team driver Rhett McNair usually doesn’t compete in on-road electric race events, but he decided to give it a go in the Mod Touring Car class. At the end of the event he would finish a respectable 14th place and he said he learned a lot for the next on-road event he competes in! For this race he used our A2R A-One Racer 2 190mm Touring Car body and a Mini Aero Car Stand.
Let’s head north into Topeka, KS where Jakes RC Pro-Am is located for our next team report. This past weekend our driver Riley Filbert competed in their 2022 Pro Am Showdown race in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes. In Mod buggy he would finish 2nd overall and in the 17.5 class he would take the TQ and win! Both rides used Fuzz Bites on all four corners along with Mono wheels and F2 bodies. Joining him on the 17.5 podium in 2nd place was teammate Stevie Slover!
Teammate David Alberico would take the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while using Fuzz Bite tires too!
His son Shane finished 6th in Mod 2wd Buggy and also took the TQ and win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class!
JConcepts driver Travis Slover finished 3rd for the event in the Open 2wd Buggy class while running Fuzz Bites in the front and rear, plus Mono wheels, a P2K body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing!
Continuing our march up north we next stop in at Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the finals for their Winter Series and team driver Bradley Peterson reported that he competed in the 1/8 Expert Nitro Buggy class for the entire series, and after all the points were calculated he would finish 3rd overall! While competing this winter he used a S15 shell, a F2I wing, Bullet wheels and Gold compound Ellipses.
His Teammate Mason Herrick let us know that for the finals he set the TQ and finished 2nd in 1/8 Expert Nitro Buggy and 4th in 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy! After the series points were tallied he would finish 2nd in nitro and 3rd in electric! For the series he ran Gold compound Ellipses glued to Bullet wheels and topped off with a S15 shell. Joining him on the nitro buggy podium was teammate Mason Fuller in 1st!
JC driver Brandon Kearney competed in both the 1/8 Expert Electric Buggy and 1/8 Nitro Truggy classes for this series. In Truggy he didn’t compete in enough rounds to qualify for the point series, but in e buggy he would finish a solid 9th place overall! He used the following JC widgets for the series:

Now we pass it over to the Hoosier state for a few updates from the team. Starting in the city of Granger where RC Fun Park is located team driver Tyler Swift reported that he recently competed in the 4th Round of their points series and would take the win in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Aiding him in the victory was our Smoothie 2 tires, Mono wheels and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
Taking a jumper over to Turf Burners RC Raceway in Indianapolis we meet up with team driver Justin Green. He competed at their recent St. Patrick’s race in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would take the TQ and W while using the following JConcepts gear!

Rocking out to Knoxville, TN let’s get our next update from team driver Jonah Wilson. Last weekend he went to R.O.C.C.K. Racing to compete in their 9th Annual Tennessee State Championship. He raced in the 1/8 Pro Electric Buggy, Electric Truggy and Nitro Buggy classes and took the TQ and win in all three while using our Gold compound Ellipses, plus S15 bods on the buggies and a F2 Truck body on his truggy!
Now let’s head to the Northeast to get some race results from the team. Our first stop is at The Factory RC Raceway in York, PA where team driver Matt Morris recently raced at for their March Madness trophy event. He would compete in three different classes and finished in the top three in all of them plus a TQ!
- Stadium Truck = TQ and 1st while competing on Pin Downs and Swagger tires
- 17.5 2wd Buggy = 2nd place while competing on Twin Pins and Swagger tires
- Mod 2wd Buggy = 3rd place while competing on Twin Pins and Swagger tires
Heading over to RC Excitement in Fitchburg MA let’s check in to see how the team finished up at their recent 2022 TLR Champs trophy race.
Starting with team driver Matt Perault he reports that he raced in the 17.5 2wd, 13.5 4wd and 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy classes. In the 17.5 2wd class he would finish 2nd, 4th place in 13.5 4wd, and set the TQ and finished 2nd in 40+ 4wd! For this race he used the following products:

- Silver compound Smoothie 2
- F2 bodies
- B6.3 Servo Mount Brace
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing
Also competing at this race was teammate Tom Bishop in the 13.5 4wd and 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy classes. After the races had completed he would finish 13th in 13.5 4wd and took the W in 40+ Mod 4wd Buggy! He used sanded down Silver compound Ellipses and a F2 body on his rides.
Now let’s check in with the international team for a few race reports. Starting with team driver Ray Munday he reports that he recently competed at 1/8 EMCC Cup in Melbourne, Australia. In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would take the win while using Blue compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels, a S15 shell and a F2I wing!
Our final report comes to us courtesy of team driver Sebastien Mure. Recently he traveled with fellow JC driver Clément Boda to Reims EMC in Reims, France for the 1st round of the French All-Terrain 1/10 Championship. Clément competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would take the win in both while using Green compound Rips, a P2 and F2 body, Mono wheels and Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings!
