The JConcepts race team keeps marching on as they continue to win on tracks around the world which you can read for yourself in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s race report out in sunny Sacramento, CA where is LSR Raceway is located at. This past weekend they held their March Mania race and team driver Rob Moots let us know that he finished 8th in 40+ Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd SCT class! His buggy used a F2 body, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, Mono wheels and Smoothie 2 tires. His SCT used an Illuzion Hi-Flow SCT body, Hazard wheels and sanded down Ellipse tires.
Teammate Derek Stephansen took the TQ and win in the Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy class while using a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing, sanded down Silver compound Ellipse tires and RM2 front inserts!
Shooting over to Texas we stop in at Indy RC World in the city of Garland. This past weekend they held their 2022 Ice Breaker event which saw 293 entries! Let’s see how the team finished starting with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr.
He would finish 12th in the 1/8 Open Electric Buggy class and 5th in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class! His truggy used a F2 truck body and R2 compound Reflex tires.
JConcepts driver Dillon Caldwell finished 3rd in both the 1/8 Pro Electric and Nitro Buggy classes while running fast on Blue compound Detox tires!
Heading north we stop in at Lawton RC Raceway in Lawton, OK for our next report from team driver Robert Chapman. Over the weekend he competed at the 2022 Beans & Cornbread Spring Nationals and finished 3rd in Midwest Modified and 2nd in Outlaw Sprint! Both rides used Green compound Dirt Webs up front, Green compound Ellipses in the back and all mounted to 9 Shot wheels.
Now we spring over to Fastlane Raceway in Blue Springs, MO to get some updates from the team competing at their March Mayhem race this past weekend. Starting with team driver Cole Henriksen he reports that he competed in both the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes and came home with the double TQ and a 2nd place finish in 13.5 and the W in the 17.5 class! Both cars were equipped with Silver compound Ellipse tires on all four corners.
JConcepts driver Travis Slover also competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and he would finish 4th while running the following gear!

- F2 body

Also competing at this event was JC driver Orlando Martinez in three different classes. He would finish 8th in 13.5 4wd Buggy, 7th in 17.5 2wd Buggy and 3rd in 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy! His 2wd cars used Silver compound Ellipses while his wheeler used the same tire in the Gold compound. He used lightweight F2 bodies, Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings and Mono wheels.
Team driver Drew Rubenking competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and took home the TQ and win in both! His cars used Gold Compound Dirt Webs up front with Gold compound Ellipses in the rear. Joining him on the Mod 2wd podium were JConcepts teammates Shane Alberico in 4th, Stevie Slover in 2nd and Chad Karstens in 3rd!
Heading north on I-35 we exit off and head over to IORC in Fort Dodge, IA for their March Mayhem trophy race. Team driver Brandon Kearney was in attendance and he competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. After a tie breaker he would finish 4th in Mod wheeler and 2nd place in Mod 2wd while running the following JC items!

Also racing in both of these classes plus 17.5 2wd Buggy was his teammate Ethan Delair. He would finish 2nd in 17.5 buggy and took 1st place in both mod classes! All of his cars used S2 bodies, Swagger and Twin Pins tires along with Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Now we cross over to the ‘Land of Lincoln’ for some updates from the team competing at various event in the state. Our first pit stop is in Waterloo for the opening round of the Trigger King RC Monster Truck Summer Point Series. Team driver Jeremy Mark let us know that in the Retro class his replica Buffalo Tremor made the finals of elimination bracket #1 and would finish as the runner up in this class for the day! His truck used the following gear:

In the Sport Modified class his Taurus truck made the semi-finals of elimination bracket #1, and his brand new Mongoose rig also made the finals of elimination bracket #2! Both trucks ran the following JConcepts products:

Also competing at this event was teammate Josh Rhodes. In the Retro class his Bigfoot IV took home the win in both racing brackets while using the following JC widgets:

He also took home a bracket win in the Pro Modified class with his new Samson replica rig! This LMT based truck used the following option parts:

Also crushing the competition at this race was JC driver Chris Parrish. In the Sport class he won elimination bracket #1 with his Equalizer truck! And in the Losi LMT class his other Equalizer monster truck swept both racing brackets for the day to capture the title for this round! Both trucks used the following goods:

Staying in Illinois let’s now meet up with team driver Brayden Billington in the city of Lincoln where RJD Hobbies is located. They recently held the 6th round of their Winter Points Series and he would finish 2nd in 4wd Buggy and took the W in both the 2wd Buggy and Mini Truggy classes! When the points were all tallied up he would also take home 1st in all three classes too! For the series use Silver compound Ellipses mounted to Mono wheels.
Heading north we stop in at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken, WI. This past weekend they held their 2022 Smack Talk Showdown event which was a special race in memory of a former racer that sadly passed away four years ago.
Competing at this event for JConcepts was our driver Ryan Derenne in three different classes and he put in some solid results!
- 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy = 9th place while running a P2 body, Silver compound Ellipses in the rear and Dirt Web up front
- Mod Stadium Truck = 11th place while running a Finnisher body and Silver compound Ellipses
- Mod 4wd Buggy = 15th place while running a P2 body and Silver compound Ellipses
Also competing at this special race was his teammate Richie Peters. He also competed in three different classes and took the TQ and win in 17.5 2wd Buggy, Mod 2wd Buggy and Mod Stadium Truck! His three wins also netted him over $100 in cash, plus three “traveling trophy” WWE style belts that has each year’s winner on it! Aiding him in the wins were Silver compound Ellipses and Dirt Webs along with a Finnisher body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing.
Leaping over Lake Michigan we splash down at Sandpit RC in Jonesville, MI. This past weekend they held Round 2 of their Great Lakes Shootout Series and team driver Jeff Todd was in attendance.
He competed in their Spec Street Stock class and finished 2nd for the day while rolling on Black compound Ellipses in the rear with Green compound Dirt Webs up front!
Next, let’s plow full steam ahead into Pennsylvania for a few updates from the team competing throughout the state. Starting with team driver Matt Stoltz he let us know that recently he went to the city of Uniontown to compete at Get A Hobby for their Winter Series Points banquet. The entire series consisted of 16 races with no drops, and after the points were tallied up he took the overall titles in the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes plus the Stampede class! His buggies used a P2k body, Mono wheels, Pin Swag and Swaggers tires. His Stampede used Rulux wheels and a 1985 Ford Ranger body.
Our next few updates in the state come to us courtesy of team driver Matt Morris. Last Saturday he went to Shaffer’s Full Steam Ahead Hobby Shop in Altoona for their Crown Race and competed in three different classes. He would take the TQ and win 17.5 2wd Buggy, Mod 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck!
Then on Sunday, Sunday, Sunday he traveled to TR Speedway in Trafford to race in their point series. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes and would take another TQ and win in both! His buggy used a S2 shell along with Fuzz Bite tires glued to Mono wheels. His truck used Swaggers up front with Pin Downs in the rear, and joining him on the 17.5 2wd podium was teammate Matt Stoltz in 2nd!
Sending it south our next stop is at The Track in Gaithersburg, MD. Team driver Jose Zayas recently competed there at their Spring Opening Challenge in the Mod Stadium Truck, 13.5 4wd and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes. He finished 10th in 13.5 4wd after a DNF in the main, and locked up 2nd place in the other two classes! He used Smoothie 2 tires on both of his buggies.
Continuing down the coast we next catch up with team driver Cade Burnette who recently competed at S&B RC Speedway in Piedmont, SC for the recent RCGP race that was held their. In the RCGP2 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he started 2nd in the grid but unfortunately ran into some nitro gremlins that knocked him out of contention. In the 18U Junior class he qualified 3rd overall and would go on to take the win while using a S15 body and a F2I wing!
Continuing down the coast our next report was submitted to us by team driver Shay Brand. He recently competed at Loganville RC Complex in Loganville, GA for the The Barn Trophy Race and took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while racing with A2 compound Reflex tires and a S15 shell! Joining him on the podium were teammates Coty Ingram (2nd) and Mark Moon (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!
Dipping into Florida let’s get a few updates from the team who competed at different tracks in the state. First up is team driver Kyle Paquette who competed at Newberry RC Park in Newberry for Round 3 of the Emerge Series. He competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and would set the TQ and finish 2nd while running Green compound Double Dees in the rear, Rips up front and a P2 body! Joining him on the podium were teammates Lee Setser (1st) and Paul Wynn (3rd) to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!
Next, team driver Brett Kingsbury let us know that he went to Beachline Raceway in Cocoa to compete at Round 2 of their Carpet Wars Series. He competed in three classes and took the TQ and win in 13.5 4wd Buggy, Mod 2wd Buggy and 17.5 2wd Buggy! He used Fuzz Bite tires, S2 shells and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wings.
JC driver Justin Cranford competed at B & T RC Raceway in Crestview for their annual Battle At B & T event which saw over 300 entries! He finished 3rd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy and took the TQ and win in Mod 2wd Buggy, 17.5 2wd Buggy and Mod 4wd Buggy! All of his bugs used Blue and Gold compound Ellipse rubber.
Now let’s get some updates from our International team starting with JConcepts driver Jesper Rasmussen. This past weekend he took the TQ and win at the final round of the DRCMU Danish Championship in the Super Stock Class!
He also claimed the overall title for the series which gives him an impressive 18 national titles now!
Team driver Alberto Garcia recently competed at the 1/8 Off-Road Madrid Championship held at Club Radio Control Mejorada in Madrid, Spain. After the racing was complete he would finish 4th for the day and used Green compound Reflex tires for qualifying before switching over to Blue compound Stalkers for the 45 minute A Main!
Also competing at this event was JC mate Randy Enger in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class. He used Green compound Reflexes for qualifying and then switched over to Stalkers in the same compound for the AAA Mains. He would TQ and take the win in this class and also utilized a S15 body!
Our final report comes to us courtesy of Australian team driver Jarod Ment. He recently competed at Round 3 of the Chargers RC Summer Series in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes. After the dust had settled he would lock up 2nd place in both while racing on a control tire plus Mono wheels, F2 bodies and Aero S-Type 6.5″ Rear Wings!
