In this edition of the JConcepts Friday5 we talk to Iowa team driver, Cole Henriksen!
1. When and how did you get started in RC? And what class do you compete in or did you primarily bash your vehicles?
My dad surprised my brother and I with two Traxxas Stampedes. Naturally we broke them that same day. Two days later we found ourselves at The Hobbyplex for parts, saw the track, and like that we were hooked
2. What is your favorite class to race in today and why?
By far 17.5 2wd buggy. I love how close the racing is, and it really rewards consistent driving which has always been a strong suit of mine.
3. What is one tip you have for new drivers getting into RC racing that you would like to share?
Have fun and absorb all the knowledge you can from experienced racers. When you start understanding set-up, race lines and tire prep you will start to see you lap times improve.
4. To date what is your favorite JConcepts product of all time and why?
My favorite product by far are the aluminum ride height and camber gauges. I use them every race day. They are high quality and look incredible
5. You are obviously highly skilled when it comes to RC cars, but what is one skill or hidden talent that folks might be surprised to find out about you?
One thing most people probably don’t know is during the pandemic I self taught myself graphic design. I create logos and dirt car wraps on IRacing. Eventually I’d like to turn it into a real life business!
