The fourth week of racing in June was a busy one for the JConcepts race team as they continue to compete at various events around the globe. Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report up north at Bego Racing RC Raceway located in Napierville in Quebec, Canada. They hosted the 2022 JConcepts Outdoor Canadian Championship over the weekend which drew in 186 entries competing in eight different classes! We had several drivers competing at this event so let’s see how they finished up starting with JC driver Damian Lamy. He reported that he set the TQ and finished 3rd in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class, and snagged another TQ plus the win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class! His buggies were running fast on Aqua compound Detox tires and topped off with S15 shells.
Team driver Brian Ross competed at this race in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes. In the nitro class he would finish 8th overall while in e buggy he finished a solid 4th place! His nitro ride used Silver compound Ellipses while his e buggy used Aqua compound Detox tires. And joining those drivers on the e buggy podium were teammates Xavier Belanger in 2nd, Daemon Holon in 3rd and Steve Seguin in 5th to complete the JConcepts podium sweep!
Speaking of Xavier, he also competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and locked up 5th place after the 30 minute final! His cars used S15 shells, Bullet wheels and Aqua compound Detox tires.
Taking 1st place in this class was JConcepts driver Guillaume Tremblay! He also took the W in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class too! His winning buggy used Aqua compound Detox tires and a S15 body, while his winning truggy used Blue compound Reflex tires and a F2 truck body. Joining him on the nitro buggy podium were teammates Jordan Miles (2nd) and Daemon Holon (4th) to complete another JConcepts podium sweep!
For his 2nd place finish Jordan reported that he used a S15 body, F2I wing and Blue compound Detox tires!
JC driver David L’Ecuyer competed in three different classes at this race and put in solid work in all of them!
- 35+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy = TQ and 1st while using Aqua compound Detox tires
- 1/8 Nitro Truggy = 2nd while using Aqua compound Ellipse tires
- 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 11th place while using Aqua compound Detox tires
JConcepts driver Daemon Holon also competed in three different classes at this race and finished in the top 5 in all of them!
- 1/8 Electric Buggy = 3rd place while using Aqua compound Ellipse tires and a S15 body
- 1/8 Nitro Truggy = 4th place while using Aqua compound Ellipse tires and a F2 truck body
- 1/8 Nitro Buggy = 4th place while using Aqua compound Ellipse tires and a S15 body
Great work at this event team!
Staying in Canada we now head to Kamloops in British Columbia for our next update. This past weekend the Thompson Valley R/C Race Club hosted the 2022 Kamloops Summer Classic. Team driver Peter Tozser competed at this event and finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and 2nd place in 1/8 Nitro Buggy! His daughter Britt Tozser finished 3rd in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and took the win in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class! He used Green compound Kosmos tires while she used Reflexes in the same compound.
Next, let’s get a few updates from our Australian team who recently competed at the Sydney RC Ryde Cup hosted by the Sydney RC Car Club in Sydney, NSW, Australia. Starting with team driver Lachlan Donnelly he reports that he took the overall combined win in the Open 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! He used Green compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear, F2 and P2 bodies and Aero S-Type 6.5″ and 7″ Rear Wings.
Also competing at this event was his JC mate Jarod Ment. After adding up his combined finishes in both class he locked up 3rd place! Both of his cars used Silver compound Ellipses, F2 shells, Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wings and Mono rims.
Now, let’s move stateside to get some more updates from the team. Our first stop is at Yakima, WA where Playground R/C Raceway is located. They recently hosted Round #3 of the Northwest Championship Tour and team driver Andrew Beauchamp reported that he took the TQ and win in the Expert 1/8 Electric Buggy class! Joining him on the e buggy podium were fellow JConcepts drivers Dylan Bartlett (2nd), MCcoy Starkey (3rd) and Brenden Bartlett (4th)!
Team driver Robert Sorjonen took the TQ and win in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using Green compound Triple Dees and a S15 lid!
JC driver Cole Chura competed in three different classes at this race and made the A Mains in all of them! He finished 11th overall in the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, plus finished 7th overall in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! His buggies used Silencer shells, F2I wings and Reflex and Rehab tires.
Moving east we stop in at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, MN for a few updates from the team competing at their monthly trophy race. Starting with Team driver Thor Ott he reported that he finished 2nd in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while using a P2 body and Fuzz Bite tires!
Also competing at this trophy race was his teammate Joe Zaier Jr. in the Mini Truggy class. He would finish 2nd overall while using Pin Downs, a Finnisher body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing!
Heading south into Missouri we stop in at OutLaw Lane RC in the city of Crocker. They recently hosted Round #4 of the Show Me State Series and team driver Connor Light was in attendance. He finished 7th overall in the 410 Sprint class while using Green compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear, Dirt-Tech foams and Mono wheels!
Also turning left hand laps at this event was fellow JC driver Brad Dean. He set the TQ and finished 2nd in the Midwest Modified class, and started 2nd and took the win in the 410 Sprint class! Both cars used Green compound Dirt Webs up front, Ellipses in the rear, Dirt-Tech foams and Mono wheels.
Heading back west into Kansas we get this next report from team driver Mason Herrick. He recently traveled to Wichita to compete at the Summer Nitro Shootout at Emery RC Raceway. He would finish 3rd in the Expert 1/8 Nitro Buggy class while using Blue compound Reflexes mounted on Bullet wheels along with a S15 body and F2I wing!
Now let’s shoot down to Texas to get a few updates from the team competing at different tracks within the state. Starting with team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. he recently competed at Round 2 of the RC Pro Series held at A#1 Air Raceway in Grand Prairie.
He finished 2nd in 1/8 Electric Buggy while using a Silencer body, F2I wing, Bullet wheels and R2 compound Stalkers! In the 1/8 Electric Truck class he would take the TQ and W while running fast on R2 compound Triple Dees glued to Bullet wheels and topped off with a F2 truck body and F2I wing!
Team driver Brian Henn attended the finals for the HRC Series hosted by Houston RC in the city of Houston. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and won Round 4 of the series, plus the overall series title for this class!
His winning ride used Fuzz Bites on Mono wheels along with a P2K body and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing.
Making our way to 4way Speedway in Abilene we get this next report from JC driver Tyler Hooks. He recently competed there for Round #5 of the RC Pro Oval Series and took the win in the Outlaw Sprint and Midwest Modified classes while using Green compound Ellipses! Joining him on the podium for Outlaw Sprint was his fellow JC driver Robert Chapman in 2nd place!
Now we rock out of Texas and head over to Knoxville, TN where ROCCK Racing is located at.
They recently held their Summer Solstice event and team driver Jonah Wilson competed in three classes and took the TQ and win in all of them!
- Pro 1/8 Nitro Buggy = TQ and 1st while using Silver compound ReHabs, a S15 body and a F2I wing
- Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy = TQ and 1st while using Silver compound ReHabs, a S15 body and a F2I wing
- 1/8 Electric Truggy = TQ and 1st while using Gold compound Ellipses, a F2 truck body and a F2I wing
Also rocking out at this race was his teammate Bella Rogers. She competed in both the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and locked up 2nd place in both of them! Her buggy used Silver compound Ellipses and a S15 body while her truggy used Ellipses in the Gold compound.
Heading down to Columbus, GA we stop in at the HobbyTown Colombus for our next update.
They hosted Round #9 of the Snap Hard Series and team driver Jason Westfall finished 3rd overall in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!
Also competing at this race was teammate Justin Sherman in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Pro2 Short Course Truck Classes. He finished 2nd in both classes and used Green compound Ellipses on both vehicles along with Mono wheels on his buggy and Hazard wheels and a HF2 body on his SCT. Joining him on the Pro2 Short Course Truck podium in 1st was his teammate Tom Sherman!
Heading up the coast we stop in at World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC for our next report. Team driver Dave McEwen recently race there for Race #3 of their Friday Night Features Series and competed in both the 17.5 and Mod 2wd Buggy classes. He took the TQ and W in the 17.5 class, and also took the win in the Mod class as well! He also received a cash purse for his win in the Mod 2wd class, and his cars used the following gear:

Veering back northwest we head over to Brown’s Hobby Shop & Raceway located in Irondale, OH. Team driver Dylan Raposo competed there this past weekend for their 2022 XRAY Challenge which saw 284 entries! He competed in both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and finished 5th in the B Main for e buggy, and made the main and finished 4th in the nitro class! His e buggy used Blue compound Kosmos tires while his nitro ride used Green compound Reflex tires.
Now we head over to Trains and Lanes Hobbies in Easton, PA to see how the team performed at their recent HB Race Days event. Starting with team driver Tom Petrella he let us know that he competed in the 40+ 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes at this race. Some nitro gremlins plagued him in the nitro class, but he had better luck in the e buggy class as he took the win! In the e buggy main he used Aqua compound Detoxes along with Bullet wheels.
Also racing at this event was his teammate Dylan Manchanda. He made the A Mains for both the 1/8 Nitro and Electric Buggy classes, and he finished 10th in nitro and 8th in e buggy! For both mains he used Blue compound Blockers on Bullet rims plus F2I wings.
His brother Aydan finished 6th in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and 2nd overall in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class! His buggy used Blue compound Reflexes on Bullet wheels while his truggy used Blue compound Blockers on Bullet rims plus a F2I wing. Joining him on the e truggy podium in 5th place was his teammate Bibie Cruz!
Our final report comes to us courtesy of team driver Matt Perault. He recently visited Hillside raceway in Epping, NH and finished 4th overall in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while using Green compound Kosmos tires mounted to Bullet wheels!
