The last week in May was another winning one for the JConcepts race team as they continue to put in work around the globe! Read all about it in this week’s Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report down in Tuscumbia, AL where S.H.A.R.C. (Steve Raddatz Memorial Raceway) is located. This facility recently hosted Round 7 of the SNAP HARD Racing League Beast Of the Southeast Series. We had several drivers in attendance so let’s see how they finished up starting with team driver Randy Enger.
He reports that competed in both the Mod and 17.5 2wd Buggy classes at this event. He took the win in both classes while running on Double Dees V2 all weekend long!
His teammate Drew Williams competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class and took the win! He used Blue compound Reflex tires in qualifying before switching over to Blue compound Triple Dee’s for the mains.
JC driver Danny Smith competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class at this event and finished 2nd while rolling on Blue compound Subcultures! Joining him on the podium in 1st place was teammate Jeremy Reid!
Team driver Will Scott was also at this event and raced in the Mod 4wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes along with 1/8 Electric Truggy. On Saturday in the Mod 4wd class he would finish 7th overall while using Double Dees V2 tires on all four corners! In truck he took the TQ and win while racing with Carvers up front and Goose Bumps in the rear! On Sunday he made the A main for e truggy and would finish in 7th place while using Blue compound Reflex tires!
JC driver Trevor Michael competed in three classes at this event. In 1/8 Electric Truggy an electronics issue would retire him early so he finished 10th in the A Main. In the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class a mechanical gremlin would retire his run early as he finished in 7th place. In 1/8 Electric Buggy he had better luck as finished the race in 5th place! In qualifying his cars used Green compound Detox tires before switching to Aqua compound Blockers for the mains.
Now we move along the east cost and stop in at World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC for our next update. Team driver Dave McEwen recently competed there for the 2nd round of the Friday Night Features in the 17.5 2wd and Mod 4wd Buggy classes. In Mod wheeler he would lock up the final spot on the podium, and in 17.5 buggy he would take the TQ and the win! Both cars used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, Mono wheels and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Staying in the state let’s now head to the city of Shelby where Mobile Hobbies is located at. There we find team driver Brandon Melton who recently competed at their North Carolina State trophy race. He brought the family to race with him, and they watched as he set the TQ and finished 2nd in 1/8 Nitro Buggy! All of their vehicles used Green compound Reflex and Teazers tires.
Heading up further to the northeast we catch up with team driver Matt Morris who was racing at WOCRC Raceway in New Florence, PA. They recently held a special racer appreciation event and he competed in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Buggy classes. He set the TQ and finished 2nd in e buggy and took the win in e truggy! His winning truggy used Green compound Ellipse tires while his top qualifying buggy used Dirt Webs in the same compound.
Our next report comes to us courtesy of team driver Eric Bresnahan. He recently competed at a RC drag event in the Bristol, CT area, and he took the win in the 13.5 class while using a 1967 Chevy Chevelle body, Hotties tires, Tactic wheels in the rear and Starfish wheels in the front!
Next, we go to Hillside Raceway in Epping NH and meet up with team driver Michael Fredericks. He recently competed there at their Memorial Day trophy race in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes. He qualified 2nd overall in both classes, but unfortunately he ran into some bad luck as he flamed out in both mains. He would finish 8th overall in buggy, 4th in truggy, and leading up to the mains his cars were running fast on Green compound Kosmos tires!
Heading back west to the “land of Lincoln” we meet up with team driver Brayden Billington who recently attended a Memorial Day trophy race at at Indian Creek RC In Petersburg, IL.
He competed in three classes and took the win in all of them plus a cash purse! Both buggies used Aqua compound Blockers mounted to Bullet wheels and S15 shells. His truggy used Aqua compound Reflex tires and Bullet wheels.
Crossing the border into the “Show me state” we stop in at St. Louis Dirt Burners in Kirkwood. They recently put on their Gateway Classic event that saw 125 entries.
Team driver Brad Dean reported that he doubled down with a TQ and win in both the 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes! He also started 5th for the 1/8 Electric Buggy A Main and would go on to finish first in that class too! All of his winning rides used Blue compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels, Dirt-Tech inserts, plus a S15 shells on the buggies and a F2 truck body for his truggy.
Also competing at this event was his JC teammate Connor Light. He would finish 6th in 1/8 Pro Nitro Buggy and joined Brad on the 1/8 Nitro Truggy podium in 3rd place! Both vehicles used Blue compound Reflex tires, Bullet wheels, Dirt-Tech inserts and S15 and F2 truck bodies.
Heading up north let’s see how the team finished up at the recent trophy race held at Thunder Road RC Raceway in Waite Park, MN. Starting with team driver Joe Zaier Jr. he let us know that he finished 3rd in Mini Truggy while racing on Pin Downs on all four corners along with a Finnisher body!
Fellow JC driver Thor Ott competed in the Mod 2wd Buggy class and set the TQ and finished 2nd while using a P2 body, Swagger and Lockness tires!
Heading up to the northwest region let’s get a few updates from the team who were competing at Round 2 of the Northwest Championship Tour in Spokane, WA. Team driver Peter Tozser competed in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and he finished 12th in the nitro class and 5th in e buggy! Both cars started on Green compound Reflexes before switching over to the Blue compound for the mains, and they both used S15 shells.
Also competing there was his JConcepts teammate Robert Sorjonen in the Mod 4wd Buggy class. He would take the TQ and W while racing on Green compound Sprinters on all four corners! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver Jack Leighan!
Team driver Jacob Hudson competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes. In buggy he would finish 4th, while in in truggy he secured 2nd place! Both cars used Blue compound Reflex tires, F2I wings, a S15 body for his buggy and a F2 truck body for his truggy.
Now let’s get a few updates from our International team starting with Australian team driver Jarod Ment. He recently competed in touring car at the New South Wales On Road EP State Titles. He would finish 3rd overall while using a A2R body!
Also competing at this event was his JC mate Lachlan Donnelly who finished 5th while rocking a A2R body!
Staying in Australia let’s now get an update from team driver Andrew Selvaggi who recently ran e buggy at the 1/8 Driver Series in Victoria.
He would take the win and a cash purse in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while racing on Green and Blue compound Reflex tires and a S15 shell!
Team driver Clément Boda recently competed at the 2nd Round 2 of the 1/8 Nationals held at La Motte Servolex in the French Alps. He would finish 6th for the event while using Aqua and Blue compound Blockers along with Bullet wheels and a S15 lid!
Our final report is from Team driver Jesper Rasmussen who recently competed at Round 2 of the Danish Championship held at the Odense RC Minirace Center. He would set the TQ and take the win in the Mod 4wd Buggy class while using a Aero S-Type 6.5″ Rear Wing and a lightweight S2 shell!
