The JConcepts team has been hard at work delivering new exciting products for the past three months. Get caught up with what’s new from the JC crew in this Spring 2022 Edition of the JConcepts Product Rewind!
Leading us off is our popular buggy tire design that is now available for 1/10 off-road and dirt oval vehicles. The ReHab was first developed for the 1/8 racing scene, and it was modeled after its larger cousin the Detox. The unique design of this tire revolves around a center structure which has medium sized, dense lugs arranged horizontally. Those lugs use strategically placed cuts and grooves to allow flex in dusty conditions to perform even if the track is deteriorating.
The outer portion of the tread fits together like building blocks, with shapes placed together that nest well, but also work together to flex laterally to provide ample side-bite. The tread tapers off cleanly to the outer sidewall giving a smooth transition during hard cornering.
The new ReHabs are available as 2.2″ rears along with front tire options for both 2wd and 4wd buggies. Each set also includes our race proven Dirt-Tech inserts.
Monster Truck Transporter Tires & Tribute Transport Wheels
Next, we released some scale options for RC monster truck enthusiasts. Starting with the Transporter tires these are modeled after the real item that 1:1 teams use to move their trucks from the trailer to the next event.
Always pushing innovation and imagination, JConcepts now makes it possible for RC monster truck fans to recreate this process, or save some space for a parked shelf queen build. The tire itself features a chevron style tread, alternating bar configuration, and slightly recessed lugs which slightly overlap in the center. Overlap in the center creates a nice pad for asphalt driving or any hard surface which require very little deep digging.
Toward the outside of the tire, the pattern opens up and allows plenty of edgy tread territory to climb, crawl, or work through a variety of conditions. The Transporter includes a traditional open cell foam insert to support the tire compound and inner carcass. Finely detailed tire lettering has been added inside and out to complete the look, add authenticity, and include identification.
To go along with this new release we also now offer our Tribute Transport wheels. Sold in sets of two, these new two piece wheels sync up perfectly with our Transport tires, and are black in color. All the hardware needed to assemble the wheels are included, and they use an industry standard 12mm hex design.
The outer section includes a mock planetary portion in the center with bracketed off tabs to join the wheel bead. The inner wheel aligns and installs with six M2.5x12mm SHCS to the outer portion, and is secured with plain nuts on the outside to visually look accurate. The inner wheel contains the assembly screws which are hooped together and cleanly bracketed to the inner wheel bead. Two different planetary covers are also included to decide the final look of these wheels when assembled.
Pre-Mounted Landmines On Tremor Wheels For The Traxxas UDR
We followed that up with some new pre-mounted tires for Traxxas UDR owners. The Landmines use a tire layout that features a split-block center design which has been sliced, stepped, and recessed for flexibility and contortion over sharp, loose, and polished surfaces.
Alternating solid and cavity pads are also used since they are ideal for transitioning from smooth dirt or pavement surfaces into dirt, mud, and rocky terrain. The outer area of the tire uses horizonal grippy pads with edges and channels to provide additional forward bite.
Each tire is 5.2″ (132mm) in size without the inserts and uses an industry standard 2.2 x 3.2” mounting bead. But we have taken care of the mounting process for you so all you need to do is pick up a few sets for your UDR, and then you can hit the trails even faster. The tires also use our medium, Yellow compound and are glued to our Tremor wheels.
These new wheels are available separately too and use a matte black finish. Each wheel uses a two piece design to lock the tire in place, and they also use a proven 17mm hex design. All the needed hardware to assemble a set of wheels is included in each package, and you will only need to pick up one package to fully equip the front and rear of your vehicle.
1989 Ford Bronco Monster Truck Clear Body
This officially licensed body comes clear and includes window masks, a decal sheet and an overspray film. Designed for monster truck fans this new shell will fit trucks that are 7″ in width with a 10.5″ wheelbase.
That means it will fit trucks like the Tamiya Clod Buster, the JConcepts Regulator or similar vehicles. The body design features large fender flares around the wheel wells to provide the scale monster truck look and ample clearance for racing tires.
The rear roof on the sides and rear and can either be masked off using the included window masks or painted over for a custom solid look.
RC10 Classic & RC10 Worlds Car Black Titanium Turnbuckles
JConcepts has always been a big supporter of the vintage RC community so we think this next release will be a sure hit with those fans. Our popular Fin turnbuckle sets are now available for both the Team Associated RC10 Classic and Worlds car kits.
Both variations are black in color and machined from high-grade titanium material. Each set uses a 3mm thread base with left and right-hand threads, and the left-handed thread is conveniently marked for installation purposes.
Part #2228 is compatible with the original RC10, short-arm RC10’s and RC10 Classic, while part #2229 works with the RC10 Championship Edition, Team Car, and Worlds Car.
Landmines For Short Course Trucks
Along with the Traxxas UDR, our new Landmines are also available for 1/10 short course trucks too. These tires use the standard 2.2” x 3.0” bead mounting diameter that make them compatible with several wheels already out on the market. They also have a 4.30″ (109mm) overall size without inserts, and are available in our Yellow compound.
Just like the larger UDR version, these tires feature sliced, stepped, and recessed lugs for contortion control, plus radial sidewall lugs and extra island mapping for increased grip. Each set includes medium firmness, closed cell inserts.
These new rims will allow you to run short course truck tires on 1/8 buggies that have been converted over to a dirt oval vehicle. Thanks to the 17mm hex base these wheels are compatible with several of today’s vehicles already out on the market.
The 9-Shot wheels are the maximum size allowed under ROAR rules, and their design features a large, open spoke appearance, slight concave dish shaped design and superior inner rib design. The wheels also incorporate an outer glue catch that resists excess glue from running down the wheel face during the gluing process.
They are offered in bright white, black, and fluorescent yellow colors, and two wheels are included in each package.
Pre-Mounted Fling King & Renegades Tires On Silver Aggressor Wheels
Next, JConcepts continues to hit the “easy button” for our monster truck customers with these next released items. We now offer our Fling Kings and Renegades monster truck tires in a pre-mounted option on our new Aggressor wheels (more on these wheels in a little bit).
Starting with the Fling Kings these tires have a dimension of approximately 3.82” W x 6.35”H with a single contour carcass with a 2.6” x 3.8” mounting bead. These tires are inspired after their full size counterpart, and are designed to fling mud, dirt, gravel, and grass just like the real thing. The V-style tire design also mimics the “hand-cutting” found in full scale tires, and retro style letting with a JConcepts logo rests on the sidewalls. Each set is glued to our silver colored Aggressor 2.6” x 3.8” wheels, and the 17mm hex adapters make them compatible with popular trucks like the Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 and Arrma Kraton. The tire is comprised from our “medium-soft” Yellow compound, and stuffed with “React” open cell inserts.
The Renegades are also available in our “medium-soft” Yellow compound, and filled with “React” open cell inserts. These tires are designed with a lower racing carcass, and chevron style lugs have been added with specially designed back-cut tread and shaved carcass areas to imitate the real thing.
The low-profile stance of the Renegades stays very flat during racecourse competition, speed-runs, or in general use. The pre-mounted Renegades measure in at ~4.0” W x 6.2”H and also feature authentic tire lettering with a retro JConcepts logo on the sidewalls. Just like the Fling Kings these are pre-mounted to silver colored Aggressor wheels and sold in sets of two. These tires are also the perfect choice to use on vehicles such as a Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 or Arrma Kraton.
Aggressor 2.6 x 3.8″ 17mm Hex Monster Truck Wheels
Both pre-mounted options use silver color rims, but we also offer replacement rims that are sold in three additional colors. The Aggressor are sold in pairs and for color options we offer them in silver, black, white or yellow. All four color options use a 3.8” bead mounting diameter on the inside of the wheel, and a 2.6” outer bead diameter.
A 17mm hex adapter makes them compatible with numerous monster trucks, and all the hardware needed for installation is included.
These wheels also include optional planetary covers with five different designs to choose from so can customize the final look of these wheels even more.
3.0mm Carbon Fiber Rear Shock Tower For The RC10T2
Switching gears back to the retro market let’s take a look at this new offering for the Team Associated RC10T2. Back when the original kits were released the rear shock tower was constructed from fiberglass.
These new towers from JConcepts use genuine carbon fiber material and are 3mm thick. These also use the same geometry design, and reinforcement ribs have been added to key areas for increased strength.
RM2 Carbon Fiber Drivetrain Rock Guard For The MBX8R & MBX8-T
We followed that up some new carbon fiber option parts under the expanding RM2 product line. Up first were these rock guards for the Mugen MBX8, MBX8-R and MBX8-T drivetrain. Most of the time a 1/8 nitro track is nestled outdoors which means sometimes the elements can wiggle their way under the body and onto the vehicle.
For those longer mains no driver wants to see their run end early due to a rock or some other debris making their way into the drivetrain. So JConcepts came up with this solution after working with team driver Ryan Maifield and his ace mechanic Mike Truhe.
This ultra thin plate of carbon fiber was specially designed to fit around chassis components, and the needed mounting hardware is included. So if you need to pick up one for your buggy or truggy, don’t worry since we got you covered for both!
RM2 Carbon Fiber F2 Truck Body Nosepiece Washer For The MBX8-T
This small item under the RM2 line can go a big way to saving the front nosepiece of your F2 truck body. This light-weight carbon fiber nose-piece washer works in conjunction with the JConcepts F2 body.
It will add support across the entire section of the mounting flange area, and installs quickly with the included hardware.
Monroe Carbon Fiber Battery Brace For The RC10 & RC10T
Back by popular demand is our Monroe battery brace for the Team Associated RC10 & RC10T! This battery strap is made from genuine carbon fiber material that is 2.5mm thick.
It is compatible with all generations of the RC10 plus the RC10T. This brace will also allow you to move your battery pack towards the front or rear of the vehicle depending on your setup needs.
Smoothie 2 Slick Tires For 1/10 2WD & 4WD Buggies
After extensive testing and multiple wins by the JConcepts race team, the Smoothie 2 slick tires are now available everywhere! On some high grip, indoor off-road tracks a slick tire is always faster.
In the past that meant a driver had to take a newly mounted set of tires and grind or sand them down to slicks. JConcepts once again hits the “easy button” for customers by releasing these new slick tires.
Released as a 2.2″ bead mounting diameter, the new Smoothies 2 is available for the rear of 2wd and 4wd buggies along with front tire options for both types of vehicles. Each package includes a set of tires and they all also include our proven Dirt-Tech inserts. Currently these are available in our race proven Silver compound too.
Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set For The Losi Mini-T 2.0 & Mini-B
We followed that up with our popular Fin Titanium Turnbuckle set for the Losi Mini-T 2.0 and Mini-B. These sets are black in color and will fit both types of vehicles. That are forged from high-grade, machined titanium material which keeps them lightweight but yet strong enough to put up with the biggest obstacles.
The center adjustment nut accepts all 4mm wrenches, and on each end is a standardized 2.5mm thread base. These turnbuckles also have left and right-hand threads too.
1968 Pontiac Firebird 2 Clear Drag Racing Body
For need to speed fans this next item is sure to be a hit! The 1968 Pontiac Firebird 2 body is sold clear and measures in at 11″ wide and uses a 13″ wheelbase. That means it will work with a variety of popular drag cars like the Team Associated DR10 and DR10M, Losi 22S, Traxxas Drag Slash, GFRP, and the R1 DC1 chassis.
Body features include a large lay-down front windshield that cuts through the wind like a fighter jet while the recessed side-windows provide just enough visibility for a Pro Mod. The heavy front-end rake allows the vehicle to hold tight on the “big end” of the racetrack.
The Firebird 2 also has more clearance in the front hooded area to allow a lower-profile stance, and additional tire clearance with a more uniform panel for less disturbance. A wider rear-end provides more clearance to an assortment of tire combinations or wider track width vehicles, and each body includes a protective overspray film and officially licensed decal sheet.
The Hold Performance 1.9″ Scaler Tire
Up next were some new items for 1.9″ crawling fans. Starting with The Hold these new performance tires have a 4.75″ (120mm) overall size without inserts.
Each package includes a set of tires that are manufactured in our Super Soft, Green compound. Each pair also includes firm, open cell inserts too.
The Hold tire includes many features like cut and sliced lugs, a staggered, drop progression center design for extra edges, forward progressing mock cut sidewall lugging, and bossed lettering added to the sidewall area.
Fling King Tires For 1.9″ Scale Truck Wheels
Our other offering was our Fling Kings for 1.9″ wheels. Each tire measures approximately 1.75” W x 4.75”H and includes firm, open cell inserts. Also sold in pairs of two these new tires are available in our Super Soft, Green compound.
And just like before these tires use a V-style tire design that mimics the “hand-cutting” found in the full scale version. Retro style letting with a JConcepts logo rests on the sidewalls, and they are designed to fling mud, dirt, gravel, and grass just like the real thing.
F2 Clear Body For The B6.4 & B6.4D
JConcepts now offers a new body shell for Team Associated’s latest generation of their 2wd off-road buggy. The new F2 body fits both the B6.4 (carpet) and B6.4D (dirt) kits, and we offer it in our regular weight materials plus a light weight option.
More clearance has been added around the spur gear guard, along with additional width in case a driver opts for a three pad slipper setup. The rear side pods of the F2 have been simplified to allow smoother driving characteristics and more room for decal placement.
An all new lower profile cab delivers knockout looks and performance, and each body includes two Hi-Clearance carpet | turf wing rear wings, a protective film, window masks and a decal sheet.
Keeping your pit space organized is very critical to a driver’s race program, especially when they need to make last minute changes. Having your tools ready to go can save you on a race day when every second counts. JConcepts now offers this unique tool holder that not only looks cool but is highly functional too.
The JConcepts Tool Holder is crafted from both aluminum and carbon fiber materials. The integrated base plate is made from CNC machined aluminum, and has been anodized in black. Etched JC logos have been added for brand authenticity, and it also uses silver highlight chamfering to enhance its looks.
Locking into each side of the base plate are carbon fiber legs. Securing into the top of each leg is a CNC machined plate with five different bored locations for your tools. Two of the holes are slightly larger to make room for nut drivers while the other three are intended to be used with your traditional wrenches.
