Even with the month of June coming to an end, there is no letting up by the JConcepts race team as they continue to put in work! Read it for yourself in this fresh edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out at Trains and Lanes Hobbies in Easton, PA. This past weekend they held their 4th of July Cash Race so let’s see how the team finished starting with JC driver Aydan Manchanda. He reports that on Saturday he took the TQ and win in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while using a F2I wing and Aqua compound Stalkers! Then on Sunday for a club event he TQed this class again but had to retire early due to an electrical issue. On Sunday he also competed in his first 1/8 Nitro Buggy event and just missed the podium as he settled for 4th place!
His brother Dylan also competed at this event. On Saturday some electronic gremlins dropped him back to a 11th place finish in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class. He also competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and finished a respectable 9th place! On Sunday he competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class again and had better luck as he took the win!
Also competing at this event was fellow JConcepts driver John Goode. On Saturday he competed in both the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes and would make the A mains for both! In Buggy he ran into an electrical issue himself and would drop back to a 12th place finish while rolling on R2 compound Detox tires. In the Truggy class he just missed out on the podium as he finished 4th while using Blue compound Reflex tires!
Staying in Pennsylvania we now move to the city of New Florence where WOCRC Raceway is located at. There we find team driver Matt Morris who recently competed in their Firecracker trophy race. He raced in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and would finish 2nd overall while using Green compound Dirt Webs glued to Mono wheels!
Our third stop in the state is at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills. Team driver Matt Adams competed there at a recent club event and took the TQ and W while using Green compound Double Dees V2 on Mono wheels!
Working our way out west we pull into Tri-Cities RC Racing in Lavalette, WV for our next update. Team driver Bella Rogers club raced there and took the TQ and W in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class while running fast on Blue compound Teazers and a S15 shell!
Now we dribble over to the Hoosier state to check in with team driver Justin Green. He recently club raced at the Hoosier RC Hobbyplex in New Albany as he prepares for the ROAR 1/10 Electric Off-Road Nationals at SDRC next month. He competed in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and locked up the final podium spot while using the following JC goodies!

Next, we veer up north and visit Krater RC Dirt Oval Raceway in Ionia, MI. Team driver Kyle Munson recently competed there for their Summer Nationals Dirt Oval race. He competed in both the MudBoss and Street Stock classes and finished 3rd in both! For his vehicles he used a 1978 Chevy Camaro body along with Green compound Double Dees V2 with Dirt Tech inserts on all four corners.
Continuing even further west our next report was submitted by yours truly. I recently went club racing at Hobby Haven in Urbandale, IA.
I competed in three classes and took the win in all of them!
- 21.5 Street Stock = TQ & 1st place while using a 1978 Chevy Camaro body, 9-Shot wheels and a Swing Operated Battery Retainer Set
- 13.5 SCT = TQ & 1st place while using a HF2 SCT body, Green compound 3Ds (rear) and Double Dees (front) and Hazard wheels
- 13.5 Stadium Truck = 1st place while using a Finnisher body, Blue compound Carvers up front, Green compound Double Dees in the rear and Mono wheels.
Now let’s send it back to the eastern coastline for some team reports. We first stop in at World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC. Team driver Luis Diego recently competed there for Round 4 of their Super 7 Series.
He would set the TQ and finish 2nd on the podium in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class, and in the Mini Truggy class he would also set the TQ and take the win! His e truggy used Silver compound Ellipses while his mini truggy utilized Green compound Ellipses.
Moving south now we stop in at Moncks Corner Raceway in Moncks Corner, SC. There we find team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. who recently competed at their 4th of July race event. He took the TQ and win in the Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy class while using Green compound Reflex tires in qualifying before switching over to Blue compound Detox tires in the mains! Joining him on the podium in 2nd place was fellow JC driver David Olsen!
Sending it over to Alabama let’s check in on the team who recently competed at RC3 in the city of Huntsville for Round 3 of their Summer points series. Starting with team driver Drew Williams he competed in three classes and set the TQ in two of them while taking the W in all of them!
He used Blue compound Triple Dees in both 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy, while in the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he ran the same tread but in the Aqua compound.
Also competing at this event was fellow JC driver Randy Enger in the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes. He finished 3rd in the nitro class and 2nd in e buggy! For the mains under the lights he choose to run Green compound Detox tires.
JConcepts driver Will Scott also raced at this event in the Mod 4wd Buggy and Stadium Truck classes. He would lock up the final podium spot in Mod wheeler and took the win in truck! His buggy was equipped with Green compound Goose Bumps in the front and rear, while his stadium truck used Blue compound Carvers up front and also Green compound Goose Bumps in the rear.
Now let’s get some updates from our international team who recently competed at Round 1 of the Quebec RC Series hosted by Bego Racing RC Raceway located in the city of Napierville in QC, Canada. Starting with team driver Steve Seguin he competed in both the 1/8 Electric Buggy and Truggy classes and finished 4th in e buggy and took the win in e truggy! Both of his rides used Blue compound Reflex rubber.
His teammate David L’Ecuyer also threw down laps at this event in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy and Truggy classes. In buggy he would lock up 3rd place after the 30 minute final while racing on Blue and Aqua compound Detox tires! In the truggy class he would finish 2nd on the podium after the 20 minute main while using Blue compound Reflexes, Aqua compound Ellipses and a F2 truck body!
Our final report comes to us courtesy of JC driver Daemon Holon. He competed in three different classes and finished 13th in 1/8 Nitro Buggy, 12th in 1/8 Electric Buggy and took the TQ and 2nd place in 1/8 Nitro Truggy! All three of his vehicles used Aqua 2 compound Ellipses tires.
