We are seeing a shift towards sealed or naturally higher bite conditions in both 1/10th scale dirt off-road and dirt oval. Top drivers like Ryan Maifield and Spencer Rivkin began to ask for a quick and easy way to add stability on high bite surfaces without having to change setups or tire compounds.
The RM2 1/10th scale Front (8130) and Rear (8131) inserts were created to bridge this gap allowing for another tuning option to have in the arsenal when heading to the track. These new inserts are most commonly used on tracks where slicks are a requirement but have a wide variety of uses in the off-road and oval world.
For Example, if you find yourself in a situation where a tire compound is starting to feel too soft and is making the car feel aggressive, in most cases in the past drivers either switch to a harder compound and sacrifice overall grip or make setup adjustments around the fact that the rubber felt too soft. The RM2 inserts create a buffer allowing you to run a softer compound longer before needing to make the leap to a different compound or tread pattern.
RM2 Inserts have been found to fit well and work superbly in all 4wd front and 2wd/4wd rear tires but will have the best performance in 2wd Front Smoothie 2.0s (4018) and Ellipse (3197) tread patterns as the tires have a wider platform.
For dirt oval racers as well the RM2 inserts can give a smoother more consistent feel as tracks break-in or the traction increases. Rubber Tire Dirt Oval Classes that use 1/10th scale 2wd buggy tires can take full advantage of these inserts in many of those increased traction situations.
