Two weeks of racing in October are in the books and it looks like there is no stopping the JConcepts race team as they continue their winning ways! Read all about it in this week’s edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out east at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. They recently put on a Halloween Havoc trophy race and team driver Eric Bresnahan competed in two different classes for this event. In the 17.5 2wd Buggy class he would finish 7th overall, while in the Stadium Truck class he set the TQ and took the win! His winning truck use Swaggers and Pin Downs tires plus a Finnisher body.
Also competing at this event for the team was JC driver John Cravotta in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. After the racing was completed he would finish 2nd in both classes while using Fuzz Bite tires along with P2K and S2 bodies!
Our next stop is at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA. This past weekend they held their 14th annual Halloween trophy event which saw nearly 150 entries! Team driver Cody Saner competed at this event in the 1/8 Nitro Truggy class and finished 2nd while rocking Green compound Reflex treads all weekend long!
Teammate Matt Adams also threw down some laps at this race too. In the 1/8 Intermediate Electric Buggy class he would finish 10th overall while using Green compound Triple Dees mounted to Bullet rims! In the 1/8 Electric Truggy class he would lock up 5th place while running Green compound Reflexes on Bullet wheels plus a F2 truck body! He would also set the TQ and take the win in the 1/10 Off-Road Electric class while running Green compound Double Dees on Mono wheels, plus a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set!
Sending it south into North Carolina let’s visit World of RC Parts & Thunder Alley RC Speedway in the city of Lucama. Last weekend was the opening round of their Super 7 Indoors series and team driver Dave McEwen doubled down with a TQ and win in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes! His winning rides used the following goods:
- Green compound Octagon tires
- Green compound Ellipse tires
- Mono wheels
- Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings
- F2 and S2 bodies
- Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets
Sending it further south let’s meet up with team driver Shay Brand who recently traveled to the Loganville RC Complex in Loganville, GA to race in their Halloween trophy event which saw nearly 140 entries! He competed in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and qualified 2nd overall, but during the A Main he ran into some bad luck and settled for 4th place. Despite that finish he still had a great time hanging out with friends and family, plus handing out candy to the kids who dressed up in their Halloween costumes!
Shooting over to Texas we get our next update from team driver Billy DiCorte Jr. He recently competed at N-Control RC Racing Circuit in Dale for their annual Rumble At The Roost event which saw nearly 100 entries!
He competed in two different classes and finished 2nd in the 13.5 Street Stock class, plus picked up a W in the 10.5 Sprint class! His street stock ride used Blue compound ReHabs in the rear, Dirt Webs up front and all glued to Mono rims. His winning sprinter used the same tire combination.
Veering up to Aurora, CO we stop in at MHOR RC Raceway to get this next report from legendary team driver Rob Sturghill. This past weekend MHOR RC Raceway held a special Matt Chambers Memorial race.
He competed in two different classes and would finish 7th in 13.5 4wd Buggy and 6th in Mod 2wd Buggy! His cars were decked out in JConcepts F2 and S2 bodies, Smoothie 2 tires, RM2 foams, Mono wheels and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Now we make a diagonal to Omaha, NE where the HobbyTown USA HobbyPlex (The Plex) is located. This past weekend was the opening round of their carpet off-road series, and team driver Ethan Delair took the win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class while running a S2 shell, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing and Twin Pin and Swaggers tires!
Also competing at this round was JConcepts driver Mike Sanders. He would finish 3rd overall in Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy and also picked up the win in the 13.5 4wd Buggy class! Both of his carpet cars were equipped with Fuzz Bites mounted to Mono wheels.
Continuing our diagonal we find ourselves at Dirt Heaven Hobby & Raceway in New Franken, WI. JC driver Ryan Derenne recently raced there for the opening round of their fall point series in two different classes. He would finish in 5th place in the Mod Stadium Truck class while running Silver compound Ellipses and a Finnisher body! In the 40+ Super Stock 2wd Buggy class he would take the win while running fast on Silver compound Ellipses, a P2 body and an Aero S-Type 7″ Rear Wing!
Also competing at this event for the team was JC driver Richie Peters in the 17.5 2wd Buggy and Mod Stadium Truck classes. In buggy he would set the TQ and take the win while using Silver compound Dirt Webs and Ellipses and a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing! He would pick up another win in the truck class while running smooth on Green compound Sprinters!
Now we fly up to the Pacific Northwest for our next team report. This past weekend Round 1 of the Northwest Rage Tour took place at Gray’s Harbor Fair and Expo Center in Elma WA. Team driver Robert Sorjonen competed in four different classes and put in great results!
- 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy = TQ and 1st while using a S15 shell, F2I wing and Blue compound Detox tires
- 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy = TQ and 2nd while using a S15 shell, F2I wing and Blue compound Detox tires
- Mod 4wd Buggy = TQ and 1st while using Green compound Rehabs
- Gas Truck = 1st place while rolling on Green compound Flip Outs
Also competing at this event for JConcepts was team driver Cole Chura in three different classes. In the 1/8 Nitro Truck class he would lock up 2nd place while using Blue compound Reflex tires! In the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he would lock up the final podium spot while using A2 compound Reflex rubber! In the 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would grab another 3rd place finish while using the same tire package as his nitro car!
Moving south we head to sunny California for a few updates from the team at various tracks. Starting with team driver Jeremy Bunting he let us know that he recently competed at Round 6 of the Nor Cal RC Monster Trucks Points Series at Rescue Community Center RC Track in the city of Rescue.
He competed in two classes, and in the 2.2 class his “Crash Test Dummy” monster truck set the TQ and win while using the following JC goods!
- Renegade Jr. tires
- Midwest wheels
- 2020 Ford Raptor body
In the Retro class he was the top qualifier again that day, and he won the series championship with his “Shotgun” monster truck that used a Regulator chassis conversion kit, a Regulator Servo Mount Kit (BAS) 1 Set, Golden Year tires, Tribute wheels, and a 1989 Ford F-250 body!
Last weekend was also the final round of the JBRL series, and team driver Jeff Guest was able to lock in the TQ and win in the 40+ Mod 2wd Buggy class! This also gave him the series title in this class, and for the final he used Green compound Double Dees V2, a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a P2 lid!
His tire teammate Mike Sorchy also wrapped up the series and finished 8th overall in the Expert 17.5 2wd Buggy class along with a 3rd place finish in the Mod 2wd Buggy class!
Now let’s get some updates from our international team starting with team driver Xavier Belanger. This past weekend he competed in the Rock 2023 Championship that took place at Circuit Téléguidé St-Roch in Saint-Roch-de-l’Achigan, QC, Canada. He competed in the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes, and he finished 2nd in Mod 4wd Buggy and took the TQ and win in the Mod 2wd Buggy class! His wheeler used slicked out Silver compound Ellipses, while his 2wd car used ghosted Silver compound Dirt Webs up front with Ellipses in the rear.
Our final report this week comes to us courtesy of Spanish team driver Alberto Garcia. He recently competed at the Spain 1/8 Nitro Off-Road Nationals, and locked up 14th place while using A2 compound Reflexes and Blue compound Stalkers!
