October comes to an end as the JConcepts race team continues to scare away the competition out on the track! Read about our winning ways in this new edition of the Race Team Update!
We start this week’s report out at The Track in Gaithersburg, MD. This past weekend they held their 2022 Fall Opening Challenge and the JConcepts team was ready for action. Let’s see how we finished up starting with team driver Enzo Albertoni. He competed in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and would set the TQ and take the wins while using the following JC goodies!
- Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires
- Mono wheels
- F2 body on his 4wd
- A Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing on his 2wd
- A Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 6.5″ Rear Wing on his 4wd
Also competing for the team at this event was fellow JConcepts driver Javon Mallory in the 17.5 2wd and 13.5 4wd Buggy classes. He would finish 5th in 17.5 and lock up 2nd place in the 13.5 class! He utilized Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, Mono rims, S2 shells and the new 3.5 x 46mm Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set.
Heading down the coast we make our way to the World of R/C Parts & Thunder Alley R/C Speedway in Lucama, NC. They hosted the final round of the TSOC (Two States One Championship) Series this past weekend.
After the racing had completed for the entire series, team driver Josh Parrish took 1st place in the Mod 4wd Buggy class while using a mix of Blue and Green compound Rehabs along with a Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wing and a Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Set! He also finished 4th in 1/8 Electric Buggy while competing with Detox, Blockers, ReHabs and Reflex rubber along with Bullet wheels and a S15 body!
Also competing at the finals was his tire teammate Jason Westfall. After the season points for the 40+ 1/8 Electric Buggy class were added up he would take home 1st overall!
Team driver Rusty Mihelich brought out the entire family to compete at this event last weekend too. He competed in the 40+ 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and took the TQ and win in both!
Maddy Long competed in the 1/8 Electric Buggy class and finished 8th in the B main and also 8th in the A Main for 1/8 Nitro Buggy!
Mylee Mihelich finished 3rd in the B Main for 1/8 Electric Buggy and also finished 7th for the day in the A Main for 1/8 Nitro Buggy!
Stacey Mihelich wrapped up her time in the Super 7 Series and finished 4th overall! The entire Mihelich crew used Green compound Ellipse Detox tires mounted to Bullet wheels.
Continuing south we head down to Lake Park R/C in Lutz, FL. They recently hosted Round 5 of the Florida RC Championships so let’s see how the team ended up at this race.
Starting with team driver Patrick Rossiter Jr. he let us know that he doubled down in the 1/8 Electric Truggy and Pro 1/8 Electric Buggy classes with two TQs and wins! His truggy used Green compound Reflex rubber while his buggy was running fast on Green compound Reflex tires.
JC driver Carlos Segui also competed in 1/8 Electric Truggy and finished 3rd while using Green compound Reflex tires and a F2 truck body! Also making the e truggy podium for the team was JC driver Carlos Gonzalez in 2nd place!
Team driver Tony Rivas competed in both the 40+ and Open 1/8 Electric Buggy classes at this recent round. He would finish 5th in the open class and 3rd in the 40+ class! He used Blue compound Teazers, Dirt-Tech foam inserts and a Razor wing. Joining him on the 40+ podium were his teammates Kawri Brown in 1st and Luis Perez in 2nd!
Team driver Joshua Vicidomini competed in two different classes at this recent round. In the Open 1/8 Electric Buggy class he would set the TQ and take the W! In the Open 1/8 Nitro Buggy class he would qualify 2nd overall, and due to the rain later in the race program he would also finish there as the main got washed out. Both of his bugs were running fast at this event using Green compound Stalkers along with F2I wings!
JConcepts pilot Carl Lebo competed in the 40+ 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and would lock up the final podium spot while racing with Green compound Stalkers, a S15 body and a Radial NMB Bearing Set! Joining him on the podium were teammates Kawri Brown in 2nd and Luis Perez in 3rd!
Next, we shoot over to Texas for a few race updates from the team competing at different events. Starting at Thornhill Racing Circuit in the city of Hutto team driver Phi-Long Nguyen recently competed there in their 2022 Thornhill Masters event which saw 175 entries! He competed in both the 1/8 Electric and Nitro Buggy classes and took home the TQ and win in both! He used our Aqua 2 compound Ellipse tires along with S15 bodies.
His teammate Dillon Caldwell also raced in the 1/8 Nitro Buggy class and finished 3rd overall!
Staying in the state we now mosey over to Abilene where 4way Speedway is located at. This past weekend they held their 1st Annual Wicked Wingless Race and team driver Kevin Lenderman competed in the Wingless Sprint car class which used a spec tire format. For the finals he started 2nd overall and made his way to 1st place to take home the win along with a $200 cash prize!
Moving north we head to Taylor Park RC Raceway in Yukon, OK for our next report. Team driver Heath Lawson recently competed there in the Midwest Mod class and locked up 3rd place while using Green compound Ellipses in the rear with Dirt Webs up front in the same compound!
Our next tour stop is at Leighton Speedway in Leighton, IA. This past weekend they held their final outdoor season race event and team driver David Fast was there to compete in the 410 Sprint class. In the A Main he had some bad luck as a mid race collision knocked him out of contention so he had to retire early and settle for 8th overall. He still had a good time and was running fast laps all night while using Green compound Ellipses on all four corners!
Heading even further north we now check in with team driver Thor Ott who has been busy competing at various events the past few weeks. Recently he went to MMR³ in St. Louis Park, MN to compete in the 1st round of their Winter Points Series in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class. At the end of the night he would take home 1st place while using a S2 body and Fuzz Bites glued to Mono wheels! Then the following weekend he went to The Toy Box RC Track in New Richmond, WI to compete in the 1st round of their Winter Series. He would compete once again in the 17.5 2wd Buggy class and lock up another TQ and win while using a S2 shell, Mono wheels and Lockness and Swaggers tires!
Now we fly out west to sunny California and meet up with team driver Rob Moots. He recently went to LSR Speedway in the city of Sacramento to race at their 8th annual Halloween race. He competed in two classes and finished 2nd in Expert 13.5 4wd Buggy, plus a a TQ and W in the 40+ 17.5 2wd Buggy class! Both bugs used Silver compound Smoothie 2 tires, a F2 lid on the 2wd car and Carpet | Astro High-Clearance 7″ Rear Wings.
Now, let’s get some updates from our international team starting with Australian team driver Lachlan Donnelly. This past weekend he competed at the 3rd and final round of the NSW Drivers Series held at Hills Off Road RC in Castle Hill, NSW. He raced in both the Mod 2wd and 4wd Buggy classes and set the TQ in both! In the AAA mains he would finish 2nd in mod wheeler and 1st place in mod 2wd! For the entire series he TQed both classes in all 3 rounds plus finished 1st in all but one of the classes! Both classes required spec tires, but he did run our P2 and S2 bodies, Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets, B6.3 Fin Titanium Front Axle, and Aero S-Type 6.5″ and 7″ Rear Wings with Aero S-Type Rear Wing Center Dividers.
Our final report this week is courtesy of fellow Australian team driver Jarod Ment. He also competed in the same two classes and finished 3rd in Mod 2wd and took home the win in Mod 4wd! For the finals he also used F2 lids, Aero S-Type 6.5″ and 7″ Rear Wings along with Aero S-Type Rear Wing Center Dividers, Black Fin Titanium Turnbuckle Sets, a B6.3 Fin Titanium Front Axle and Mono wheels!
